So you are doing basically content on your own. You need to start doing premades. Of course content that requires a group for higher content is going to offer more, this IS a MMO after all.

World quest gear already Titanforges for players who cannot, or choose not to participate in the social aspect of the game. If you want to get stronger, you gotta put in the effort and go get your gear like the rest of us do.

just do stuff with peeps from lfg, I dont have a guild or premade group and I’ve still been able to get stuff done and get a decent ilvl. You just have to be able to deal with the odd bad experience, shrug it off and move onto the next group.

It is content. I don’t think its good content though and it discourages people from exploring other parts of the game. I do accept that some people have no interest in furthering themselves or their character and just like their easy little farmville-esque grinds as a time sink.

Whether you think it’s good content or believe other people should play and enjoy the game the same way you do isn’t relevant. They don’t and your opinion of it doesn’t matter. But yes, some people play this like it’s a form of entertainment and not a job, they don’t see it as something to derive a sense of self worth from, they aren’t interested in investing the time or effort to get to the skill level of people who do difficult organized content because…well…it’s just a video game. And those “some people” are actually the vast majority of players. Blizzard caters content done by hardcore players to them, they don’t for content designed for casual players. That’s not unexpected.

You and I, (just guessing here), we raid and run M+. That’ fun content to us. It’s suited to us. It’s designed for us and to our playstyles. Whether it’s forging or not, casuals deserve progression too. They need something to work on over a tier. A bunch of time gated progression is perfectly fine, they’re not going to exceed people doing organized content in ilvl unless those people stop playing. There’s nothing wrong with that.

Right now someone doing just warfronts, world boss, emissaries, and m0 x4 weekly would outgear someone that raids normal BoD and does +2-5 keys (1 or 2 a week).

Next Tuesdsy even more so, bordering on equal to someone doing heric BoD and 6-8 keys.

Between my child, work and sleep I don’t have much time to play. Two, maybe 2 1/2 hour blocks at a time, perhaps 3 days/week.

I think part of it is that the game is so gear-focused that there’s not much else to do. I don’t care about mounts or transmorg. Pet battles are just weird.

I don’t really see the point because M+ doesn’t drop anything higher than 400. While many people only do a single +10 every week for their random 410+ item on Tuesdays, people like myself actually targeted dungeons for specific loot drops. I ran the same dungeons over and over again until I got the drops I wanted.

If you don’t have much time to play then just do your emissaries, a few WQs and weekly activities. You won’t gear up fast. But, if you don’t have the time, you don’t really need the gear anyways. Unless you plan on doing group content, there is really no reason. Maybe World of Warcraft just isn’t the game for you right now. And that’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with taking a break & coming back when the game can give you more rewards – like 8.2 and beyond.

And? There are a couple of issues I have with your comparison. First, I’m not sure why that matters. Normal raiding is normal raiding. I don’t prescribe to the philosophy that someone doing normal raids should be automagically better geared than someone who doesn’t by the end of the tier. Second, this is a cherry picked example that isn’t actually substantive at all. Are you trying to tell me the person doing raids isn’t doing the same solo content + mythic dungeon weekly when it comes up? They are, and they’re going to be better geared by virtue of having more loot drops that could potentially forge. That’s expected. And according to Blizzard the data shows that solo world content + forging isn’t better than solo world content + forging + organized group content. In short, who cares about your contrived example?

And? The person who used to do heroic BoD is now moving into Crucible which drops higher ilvl gear too. Welcome to how WoW has been since Legion. I know it’s only been 3 years. You’ll find a way to adapt to these changes soon.
