The Incredible Ariok and the rise of the orc clans!

the only part I am not sure on. is the part about orcs transforming for combat?

I assume this would be about players creating a dire orc/ whatever we want to call it.

I am not sure Blizzard gonna be alt to create more races that change for combat since like…every one we have now the forums is littered with complaints because people don’t want to actually play the race they created

I didn’t think it so much as just combat, I was thinking more them when berserk & in truly infuriated phases.

 Additionally, for the dire orcs I honestly hadn’t anticipated them as playable for the players to have :person_shrugging: Personally I thought it’d simply be a cool feature to have in the story for a handful of characters & potential future ones.

The dire-orc/troll transformation seems to be both traumatic and permanent. Not sure it’s something that would be made playable.

I mean…I wouldn’t say no to a dire orc or troll warrior.

You would be if you got so much disappointment with the lore for the past years.

Thrall and Eitrigg are basically the last two know orcs alive, they killed everyone off, dont expect much from Ariok unless they kill him as well.

I mean, I’m not exactly ‘brimming’ with ecstatic hopes; believing my dreams will be fulfilled with the writing :joy:

As people who frequent on the forums know all too well, I’ve heavily criticised the writing of Blizzard – ESPECIALLY with Shadowlands, due to its enormity of retcons and changed flavours of the games lore. :face_exhaling:

  • I come to the forums to pitch ideas or inspirations that hopefully Blizzard will view; or word will spread enough to light the flames of influence & change to better outcomes for their future prospects — I know that’s a fools errand of a hope to have, but it’s one I hold nonetheless

That being said however, I still hold out some semblance of hope — and Dragonflight’s writing helped restore some of my faith in Blizzard towards their writing … Sure it wasn’t the “Perfect” expansion, if I were to explain it myself I’d say: “Dragonflight was the okayest expansion to every okay – and that is okay.” But I did enjoy the story & writing … Expected a bit more with a few stories here & there, but I’ll take what I can get.

The expansion that compltely ignored shamans and the earthen ring - when the main villain were elementals and the primalists?

The expansion that completely ignored the dragonmaw clan - when the expansion was all about dragons?

Sure…

Like I said — I expected more with a few stories here & there, but I’ll take what I can get.

I agree that I expected more with shamanism – Not necessarily the Earthen Ring, but something or anything - would had been nice …

As for the Dragonmaw Clan, there was a reference made to an old orc who reminisced on their past & you had a questline to ease their pain and have them make come to terms with it, moving onward :dracthyr_nod: Although as stated, some more would’ve been good.

  • I’d love to see the orcs get more than just being villain fodder all the time. As it stands, it appears most the orc clans have crumbled & faded away into obscurity & irrelevance, save except a very limited few.

However, I do recall some Alliance posters even raging the Horde got “Too much” in Dragonflight because of that small crumb of a quest with the Dragonmaw orc lol – So to be fair to Blizzard, it would seem to them like they can’t win everyone :joy:

Personally? I think the Horde, particularly the orcs – Need more heroism (outside of just Thrall) in the story and I’d love for shamanism to have a questline / storyline involving the Primalists too … Maybe when Iridikron returns against the titans, we can reuinite with them – perhaps allying with the faction and learn more.

Having a Primalist Questline for Shaman players, that results in us getting the Primalist-Totems would be awesome too :star_struck: Though that’s a whole other subject, lol
