you guys want an ability that has nothing to do with the class and makes you cast as a melee XD? over a passive that deals aoe damage, heals you, and actually is interactive with your class cause you throw the glaive and it dies. not to mention it gives damage bonus to your abilities as a demon hunter.
fodder of the flame is one of the best things in this expansion, and a dog water button is getting picked over it and being bought to the next expansion.

Tbh I’m also not a fan of The Hunt having a cast time in a melee rotation (I hate how monk’s Chi Burst has a cast time) but Hunt is such a cool ability that I can overlook it.

Eh it’s a very very short cast time.
Fodder is there, but fodder is garbage. Thematically it’s a cool idea but functionally The Hunt is far superior. The Hunt is reliable, consistent, and easily planned for and played around. I’d much rather have The Hunt rebranded with fel green and have Fodder and Decree removed from the tree with the choice node reworked with two entirely new options.
I personally think The Hunt is the perfect and only covenant ability that should be carrying over for havoc and I’m excited to see how the tree continues to evolve and shape up.
I much prefer pick Kyrian Sigil over fodder and turn it into Chaos dmg and still pick The Hunt from general tree also

Kyrian sigil is already there competing agains Fodder. While the Hunt is in the class tree. So you can get both. And with the Mastery thing you can turn both of them into Choas Dmg instead of Nature/Arcane

They might both get it. Sinse there is an area dedicated to Sigil so
Fodder may be thematically cool, but it is unreliable. There’s no way to time it for burst windows.
