I feel like you are the kind of guy who yelled about the Horde bias before
But atleast the Alliance will be taking aside for the Horde to develop like Goblins for example.
the alliance will never recover after the manari demons
or the lore will never recover
he trusted a demon hahaha
Well, that took less than two weeks:
Donāt feed the trollsā¦
That is simply inhumane. Trolls deserve to be fed just like all other races of the Horde. Stop with this pro-Alliance rhetoric about starving one of our founding races!!
WORLD OF WARCRAFT:
Wrath of Old Blanchy
also, this is a troll thread, ignore it
Woah the Alliance wins again?
NICE!
srsly why was he evil in shadowlands?
blizzard just trying to make an epic funny or what
Yes, it was just a meme because the player base always called him evil. Donāt think too much into it. They always put memes in the game because of the player base.
Some donāt like it, like you. Others find it funny as hell and love it.
Iā¦ Donāt recall that ever being a thing? Old Blanchy was only ever part of one single quest in Vanilla (gathering oats) which didnāt interact with her, just her owners. And then she was dead in the Cata revamp and part of the silly CSI: Westfall story.
I do not know of some meme involving players calling her evil at all.
The sad thing here isā¦ the OP has a point.
The Horde will never recover from the faction conflict in terms of morality. Literal genocide happened. Thereās no back-stepping that. There is no redemption. The Horde systematically destroyed the Night Elves as a people, leaving them as a refugee race only now rebuilding.
Where I disagree with the OP is that they see this as a good thing.
The franchise is poorer when a playable faction is irredeemable. Yes, the Horde of the Second War were just that, but we saw the Horde defeated, broken. Thrall built a new Horde from the ashes of the old, one that strove for survival, a return to cultural roots of honor and wisdom. The typical trope of evil monster races was turned around, and it worked surprisingly well.
The game was so much better when the Alliance was just a union of nations each with their own interests, cultures, and history, sharing bonds of faith and philosophy, and divided by prejudice and ambition. It was better when the Horde was a band of misfits seeking to survive in a world that hated it, but striving to do so with dignity and humble honor.
Over the course of WoW, weāve lost a certain ineffable identity associated with the factions, largely due to spats between devs, and the ever-present threat of the, āRule of Cool.ā Warcraft as an intellectual property has not been given the respect it deserved, and its a shame.
Itās origins may have been humble, but the intellectual property could have been so much more if only its narrative and world had been the driving force behind development, rather than investor metrics and whatever was, ācool.ā
Back in the day I seem to recall there was a fan gag theory making the rounds for a while that jokingly suggested the Defias murdered the Furlbrows because Olā Blanchy sold them out, then killed her as well because she knew too much.
While I get what youāre saying, itās only true if you insist on treating the franchise as a single coherent story. Which is more than Blizzard frequently does. If memory-holing the events of previous expansions is good enough for them, why should we give the story more weight than they do, to our own detriment?
Honestly, with how things are written and then left unconcluded, every WoW, expansion could be its own universe.
I have somewhat been just taking the lore of DF onwards as THE story and just using SL and back as soft-canon.
Not a bad idea actually. Works wonders for RP too
There were jokes being made that the horse sold out the family to the defias or something. Dumb things like that, nothing actually in the game, just dumb community stuff when there was still actual talking in the game.
People made dumb jokes, blizzard saw dumb jokes and memes, then boom, blanchy is in limbo hell because of their misdeeds.
I am literally only hearing about those for the first time! Iād heard Blanchy died because the Defias didnāt want witnesses, that Blanchy died in animal pit fighting and the Fulboroughs were killed when they couldnāt pay the money they owed (MoP, after a pet battle daily was placed right near her) and a lot-a lot of complaints about the CSI: Westfall stuff, but this one is new to me!!
Yup, the jokes would start in elwen forests, especially for new players getting to westfall. People would joke about olāblanchy being the most vile of people. That or watch out for olāblanchy, she will cut you for looking at her side ways.
Just for them to get to westfall and see it is a dang horse. This ways the days when you still had to group up to take down hogger for the quest.
So before cata was a thing. It was such a joke about her that even Metzen said she was the core aspect for new cata westfall
See, this is what you miss when you mainly run as Horde and your Alliance zone humor is only from the forums.
I never knew Blanchy was a big thing!!
