The Horde story is officially dead

Ahhh, once again it’s that guy.

"From another post:
Before Khadgar there was only the Lich King to deal with but then he showed up and started:

You see that Dark Portal? We must go in.
You see that planet? We must go there.
You can’t see. We must go there. (Shadowlands)
You see that big sword? We are going."

Define what it is to “be Horde”.

Tbf that is kind of what i said about handling it differently and it being kind of fun when we knew it burned but they teased a mysterious reason why.

And then we found out it was just sylvanas making a last minute change of plan because some random night elf said she cant kill hope.

They always have the option of making someone else responsible for that. The big problem here is that between what happened in MoP and then what happened in BFA they ruined the Horde. They ruined a faction to tell a story in a type of game where people are attached to their factions and their characters. And building doesn’t literally mean building. It means make it make sense. The whole Sylvanas turning into Arthas didn’t make sense. The Azerite catapults didn’t make sense. I could go on. It wasn’t even good story to make it worth it. And the pay off… was SL. Where we learn everyone was a robot. Great lore, lol.

Yeah, but aesthetically, they were leagues beyond what the rest of the Horde had to offer. They had human skintones, weren’t rotting, were slender and weren’t hulking in size, hunched, or bestial.

They basically combined human-esque aesthetics and proportions, edge, and an exclusive class. It was a perfect storm to overwhelm the Horde pop-wise, a storm the Horde’s never equalized from.

Elfs have been allied with the Arathi a whole heck of a lot longer than they’ve been in the horde. With the Arathi back in the picture they might as well be an official alliance race. The two groups are sworn to one another.

Silvermoon will be a neutral city by the end of the expansion.

I saw them. There’s just some tower bits. Not the whole city.

Well, if being Horde means having allied with Gul’dan, so yes, they are not Horde, gladly.

Hopefully not.

The elves had a pact with the Arathi but only some stayed loyal to them, none of which became Blood Elves.

Enjoy being force swapped to alliance for Midnight.

Lol, enjoy being disappointed about that because they don’t change playable characters for forum trolls.

You shouldn’t assume my race. I am half Blood Elf.

I don’t think that will happen, but anyway, I’d rather prefer BEs to be their own faction so I could kill ugly orcs and humans without issues.

And to me, that just goes to show how petty people were; Narratively it made more sense for them to be in the horde, creatively it made more sense since it gave the horde a race that could logically have paladins and fiscally it reversed the population trends while also opening up asian markets.

If The horde had gotten ogres instead back in TBC while the alliance got elves, I can all but guarantee this game would of died a decade ago.

Do you think Silvermoon will be neutral though?

At the very most they would merge them in to one race accessible to both factions.
They would never remove a factions access to their own characters.

Don’t exaggerate.

If they do that, original Silvermoon would not be neutral. They can’t do that because it’s a starting area and quest hub. It’s also a capitol and they haven’t yet given any side free range of a capitol. I think at most they get an instance which will not be the real Silvermoon.

Nah I’m pretty sure you’re a high elf who has perfected their cosplay and achieved true weebdom: being a human male paladin :dracthyr_heart:

Okay but the Horde has never been about “aesthetics”. You don’t have to be a monster race to fit into the Horde. Had Thrall encountered the High Elves instead of the Tauren and they wanted to join him he wouldn’t have been like “mmm sorry Kael’thas you don’t really uhh, fit the vibe around here? Kinda too pretty for us you know. Sorry Garithos did that to ya but the Horde ain’t for your kind. Maybe if you were a Naga…”
