Playing through Zul’aman atm. It just strikes me as weird the Horde isnt taking thisn opportunity to repair relationships with the Amani. Yeah, I get that the Amani are pissed with the Horde for allying with Silvermoon, but you’d image theyd take the chance to establish diplomatic relationships with them and bring them over. And more than that, why isnt Talanji somewhere here to be found? You’d think Silvermoon might have, in the past, reached out to Zandalar and asked them to intervene somehow
Do Troll PCs get any unique dialogue?
Do the Darkspear or Zandalari play any role in the ZA story at all?
NO
why would blmizz do soemthing logical
That’s really disappointing, tbh.
Ya we are all wondering it.
Quick answer is Blizzard didn’t want to, so we both got hairy James Cameron Elves
None at all? Cause my mage got a dialog option during the Murder Row quest to find the fel-dealer.
Seems like something they’re into.
I mean I got plenty of custom quotes in Silvermoon telling me I was a douche
Which fair enough, just reminds me of the Eldar from 40k
abotu darkspear/zandalari in Zulaman stuff
and if those races play A role at all in, the story
which is THEY DONT
it be perfect sense for atleast talanji to be there but she isnt, nor is rokhan ro soemthing or any zandalari/darkspear
Trolls may get unique dialogue in silvermoon, i dunno
But as said teh quesiton was DO THEY PLAY A ROLE IN THE ZUL AMAN STORY
to whcih the only answer is: they dont
The Horde plays an extremely important role in Zul’Aman, through the actions of Liadrin. And this is also reflected in the release of new customizations for troll players.
I believe one of the NPC’s (Zul’jarra and Zul’jan’s uncle) makes a comment if the PC is a troll / zandalari troll. Basically saying they are happy that one of Zul’jarra’s helpers is a troll, even if they are not an Amani. He also makes a comment if you are a blood / void elf PC. Basically facepalming that the two people helping Zul’jarra in her quest are both Thalassian elves.
sarcasm aside, its annoying that they just did Darkspear “amani” customisations like they did. While the Darkspear racials are fitting, its not really fulfilling the fantasy of playing a Forest Troll. Some alternative body shapes would have been good, especially since Amani women share the same body type as Orc women and wouldnt need much in the way of Armour detail. But we got Hairy Faux Night Elves so…
Interesting. I was curious about that.
My main is a Blood Elf Paladin, Hes the one I usually level first every expac. When I got to that quest, and they commented negatively about “two blood elves” being the “hash’ish” or what ever they called us… I wondered what they say to other races.
But I don’t see myself leveling another race through the quests to find out.
Thanks for the info.
That’s not the story the devs wanted to tell apparently
Kinduru the priest uncle has darkspear and Zandalari specific dialogue, and so do elves
Nija Torntusk, one of the side quest characters, is Horde Revantusk canonically
And Schrodinger’s Canon (the Tablet of the Ruling Family was in-game on launch day but removed 24 hours later), Jan/Jarra’s grandma aka Zuljins wife was a Horde Revantusk character who is still in-game, Yayojin
They’re 3/4ths Amani Amani and 1/4th Horde Revantusk Amani
It is odd as how all other light users are in silvermoon including zandalari trolls, except Talanji. She is the only light user not present.
Horde should be present in the defense of silvermoon. Even if it is a small token force, or a dialogues that the horde is coming. Blizzard just doesn’t want to write for the horde outside of faction conflicts.
Isn’t she a Shadow priest since she now serves Bwonsamdi? Her magic appears to be shadow based at best she’s discipline
No idea, I thought the Zandalari trolls wielded the light through Razen. He is dead dead. But they still wield the light so I figured she does as well.
The prelates do wield the light of the loa, but Talanji appears to be more of a shadow priest from the magics she’s wielded especially after being empowered by Bwonsamdi. She maybe discipline priest, but she’s definitely using the dark powers of the loa of death.
Eh. I can’t fully agree with the takes that Talanji and the Zandalari should have been present in the ZA content, because one thing that seems consistent about the Midnight storyline is that it’s taking place over a very, very short time period. The Zul’Aman MSQ in particular feels like it’s all unfolding in the span of like, one afternoon. Having Talanji show up at the end with a delegation of Zandalari would feel really weird and fast and excessive, imo. Like… did you just have all this ready to go? Chomping at the bit?
Like, there should definitely be more of a Horde presence in Silvermoon, some vanguards or even just an ambassador saying ‘yep, don’t worry guys, we’re on the way’, but a specific response to the extremely nascent amani situation would be a bit much.
Another reason is that, again in my opinion, the Amani storyline was very very very good, and one of the reasons it was very very very good was that it was very very very tight. Adding Zandalari and pan-trollism would be, in this moment, just flab. It would take away from what is very specifically meant to be the Amani’s long, long awaited time in the sun. (notably I think that pan-elfism is the weakest part of the current midnight narrative and is taking away from the sin’dorei’s long awaited time in the sun, ENOUGH NIGHT ELVES OH MY GOD)
I do think that pan-trollism would be a very good thing to have in the narrative, but I think that the first major patch of midnight, as everyone’s theorizing, is actually the appropriate time for that. That’s when I’ll get cross if we don’t see Talanji and Rokhan and Bwonsamdi and Vol’jin and those plot threads finally brought to fruition. Let the Amani have their moment.
arator cande spite travel alla roudn the ffreakign world bakc and forth tis nothing
THEY SHOULD be there, they absolutlky
THE reason the onyl reaosn they arent there is becuase liek rest fo hrode blizz doesnt give a damm about them and deosnt wannaw rite them at all
the onyl reason
If Talanji shows up in the next patch to further smooth elf-Horde-Amani relations, with the explanation that it took a while to get an ambassador and staff ready, then I will applaud. (I still think she should have shown up - there’s plenty of instant magical communication and teleportation in the current story to explain why she could move fast.) I just want there to be some Horde troll involvement, to show off the Horde’s cultures and capabilities.
