I think you are mistaking purpose for potential. They do have a lot of the later, and it’s still yet to be seen, but purpose , on the current narrative? Not at all.

They don’t need purpose in the narrative alone (which why they way, they clearly had possibility of relating more than any other AR). They fullfilled the purpose of giving the Alliance a Thallasian model, at the very least, what other purposes Blizzard had in mind, that’s something neither you or me can know, but that doesn’t mean you can say they don’t have purpose when one alone was already obvious.

pushing for blood elf like customization on a void elf validates the truth that for me, and likely many antis, only a minority of the ‘high’ elf community wants it for the lore. literally avarie is the only one ive never seen say anything like this.

I’ve been consistently in favor of all High Elves being integrated into the Void Elves, or effected in a similar way by some other calamity (i.e. Alamara’s “Storm Elves”, or something like the “Arcane Elves” Murg and I discussed in the Megathread).

I wouldn’t know just how fringe this sentiment is, but it certainly isn’t such a rare position that only a single poster embodies it – I mean, right off the bat, like the five most prolific posters in the Megathread have created egregiously long-winded write-ups detailing ways in which “new High Elves” could become entirely distinct from what we’ve got now.
