I like how you purposefully ignored everything else I said to reply with what, I imagine you feel itâs a witty retort.
It wasnât.
Itâs not even assured that Alliance players that have done all that (including the meager amount of high elf related things besides them being canon fodder) will agree.
Iâll never understand why they didnât dip Alleriaâs followers in the Void juice.
I like the Void Elves I play mine like Yennefer of Vengeburg who wants more power. But I am disappointed with what theyâve done with them, and still support HEâs to the umpteenth degree, because I know how much fun people could have playing their HEâs on Alliance RPing the world
Iâm sorry to inform you that Void Elf bashing itâs a common thing in this topic, itâs usually those against High elves that tend to defend them for the most part (althought itâs not exclusive).
Because just you dismissed everything I said as âjust opinionâ, I can do the same to yours. But when you state âthey do have a purposeâ as if it was fact, I just pointed up it isnât.
Itâs amusing how the results of the trainwreck are just in front of you yet you refuse to acknowledge the disaster.
Also this. If they had simply used the existing High Elves to create Void Elves, or used a different excuse to make them available (Half Elves), itâd solve the implementation problem for quite a few people
I mean without that, do the Alliance really have any void specialists? The Dark Irons have sort of flirted with void stuff, but theyâre more about shamanism/dark shamanism. The Horde have the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow and the Shadowmoon Clan to provide potential connections to void storylines.
Yeah I know I guess Iâm the opposite, pro HE but I absolutely love the Void Elves they fill a niche that I fall into I guess, I can see where the HE people come from just on account of I have the most fun doing things like LoreMaster and exploring and head canon my narrative, and concede in general they didnât deliver any meaningful narratives in BFA that I feel they should have
Have you considered that maybe this is much more a âeating crackers over here like she owns the placeâ situation than that theyâre actually spiting you?
I like them to a point also, but they are not High Elves nor even close to acceptable replacement for High elves, and we didnât ask for them. We were given a race that devs totally gave us opposite what was asked for out of contempt in place what was asked for. There attitude on topic (all Interviews given on the matter as proof) and filnal model they released is proof of that. (imho)
I believe if we were to get a void-themed race it shouldâve been Ethereals. Otherwise the void nonsense feels like it should stay a class flavor rather than a race one
No, I still think they are a good idea that ties into Alleriaâs story well.
Absolutely. They could have been an excellent storytelling vehicle and could have even done a decent job of laying the requests for playable Alliance High Elves to rest in a way that made most people mostly happy.
No you didnât, you made a nothing post about how somehow providing new aesthetics isnât the purpose of a new race.
Ethereals donât really work as an AR and theyâve made it pretty clear that theyâre more interested in selling to both sides than even the goblins.
Mind you at the same time Horde Got the Shalâdorei, EX Highborne, with a beautiful city and wonderful starting lore. But that dont matter either I guess.
Because it is an opinion. Theyâve been the most successful AR for Alliance since their release, and they obviously exist for a reason even if you refuse to admit it.
But I imagine you have an uncle that works for Blizzard or something. /s
Youâre the one that once spent several posts trying to explain how them spearheading an entire assault on Horde aligned lands meant less than a single NPC standing around somewhere and doing nothing.
You really need to stop trying to put them down, it does nothing for your goal and no matter how hard you try to push your opinion, theyâre not going anywhere and replaced by blood elves with blue eyes.
BFA was a general trainwreck, for everyone, left and right, up and down. Void elves have amazing potential, not only with the whole Nâzoth narrative but with being the odd ones out in a heavily Light influenced faction, potential that the HE can only dream they could even scratch the surfance of.
The writers are not even paying attention anymore to anything, including great opportunities.
Oh believe me Ehereals wouldnât have been my choice as an allied race (a core race if anything), but if we were to get a void race theyâd be the first thing Iâd think of
Well I canât say giving Alliance a Horde race would have been my first choice for a void-themed faction, but getting mad with Blizzard for wanting to come up with new stuff is like drunkenly throwing beer bottles at some guy with an acoustic guitar because he wants to play his own stuff for a bit instead of covering Free Bird for the fifth time that evening.
If Iâm being honest if I can maintain a PRO HE stance at the same time, I like them because I like the Lannisters, or the Empire in Star Wars people who are power hungry and pragmatic, and they sorta remind me of the Forsaken in the Horde when no one really trusted them and that narrative was always very interesting me, but I agree that they are not fulfilling the niche HE would because HE as I think several people have pointed out fill this sort of majestic / intelligent type Elf aesthetic so I can see how they conflict.
I actually completely agree, and I have enjoyed all the VE inclusion (all the random dialogues too from NPCs) in BFA but it didnât seem enough but like you pointed out BFA lacked overall in the story dept for people looking for story
