The hate on the Alliance in this expansion is unreal

Us gnomes will give you shelter in our radio active fallout bunkers due to our city become a pet battle dungeon.

The whole Blizzard likes them more whining is ridiculous, but two zones were dedicated to races who would eventually align with the Horde. Granted that Highmountain backstory was a bit lacking. However the Nightborne played a huge part in the story.

You only have silvermoon in eastern kingdom .

I want that city for my void elfs so . . .

Still wasn’t Horde story at the time, and not like the current night elves didn’t have Val’sharah where we all tagged along with their faction leader, or ties to Azsuna and Suramar. I’m not a fan of the concept of retroactive content, and maybe if Baine or other Horde Tauren had shown up in Highmountain (and he probably wouldn’t have been smack talking Alliance players if they quested with him) I’d be more open to the idea that they were Horde aligned.

WoD has MORE alliance content then it did horde. The horde character was forced to work with Khadgar, his warden, and the Kirin Tor to do the expansion long artifact quests.

Legion completely forgot about horde halfway through it and became Alliance only where it made no sense to have a horde hero there.

They might not have been aligned at the time, but Blizzard was setting them up as Horde races. And Alliance players did far more quests with Thalyssra than Horde did with Tyrande.

It was established during the Forsaken intro in Vanilla. It was always an alliance of convenience.

“Harboring no true loyalty for their new allies”

If the Alliance is so hated, why is the story always centered around guilt tripping the Horde for fighting them?

At least the warchief shuffle puts you at the forefront of the story and lore. Alliance is just the faction that has to clean up the hordes mistakes, cus if this wasnt an MMO the horde would have been dismantled loooong ago.

Horde lost the first second third AND fourth war, man you guys suck a waging war lol.

Is is that hard to understand that whatever you win or lose the focus is never on the Alliance? Most of the time the stories are Horde stories and the Alliance are just there to promote them, to lift them up.

Saurfang fight Sylvannas. What Anduin did? He gave him his sword and get back to passive. LoL that’s a pretty good exemple of the Alliance lore we got for the past 10 years and BFA is full of it. Once again the Alliance is in front of Orgrimmar but this time they do absolutely nothing.

I find that incredible that some people can’t really see that. The devs just don’t care about the Alliance and that reflect on their stories to the point that the Horde seems to always have the same one big story at each xpac : Internal fights = dead or new warchief.

Warcraft is Hordecraft where the bad Horde are fighting each other to gain some humanity and be as bad or good as the Alliance are. The devs are trying so hard to make them human that it make me think of a bunch of rejects trying to fit in. At that point not only it’s really bad writing but it’s now became pathetic. The Alliance faction have no stories because the Horde faction have theirs too.

Blizzard really need to step up and put the focus back on BOTH factions equally and respect the true nature of them.

Trust me, you don’t want the spotlight if Blizzard idea of Horde ‘winning’ is what we’ve been getting.

It doesn’t feel like winning… it feels like losing.

I would rather the more ‘passive’ story development at times if that means we actually appear competent and victorious

I’m not saying you’re wrong and I’m right… We’re just looking at it from 2 different viewpoints which therefor are going to bring 2 conflicting opinions… I’m just saying that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side

There was at least a statue to Maraad, but I agree. They should definitely have included this Blood Knight: A true defender of the weak and a Light when there appeared to be none.

Let’s see…

Thrall got turned into a complete shadow of his former self

Garrosh went from admitedly war hungry yet honorable to a complete maniac that went against everything he was and then got fried

Cairne got killed offscreen

Baine… exists

Sylvanas went to, again, a very dark and arguably evil character yet had a love for her people and her home making her a rather 3D and interesting character into a Mary Sue because “ShE nEvEr CaReD fOr HeR pEoPlE”

Saurfang got one scratch on Sylvanas and then died due to Sylvanas’ poorly explained power up that came out of left field

The Horde constantly gets treated like monsters by the devs and writers

Vol’jin died to trash mob

And we completely lost the Fourth war (canonically)

If you call that preferential treatment and want that, you are more than welcome to take it because we are sick of it.

And I have a LOT of trouble believing that the highly competitive people going horde has anything to do with the cinematics or supposed Horde bias of our continully dying leadership.

So yeah, this thread pretty much has zip to do with the Alliance being a “dying” faction or why people don’t play it at high levels.

And literally the ONLY horde win of the entire expac. But y’all cannot back up from a situation and see that mayyyyybe things aren’t as bad as you want them to be.

  1. Undercity: we gave up the entire city so that Sylvanas could pretend to be smart and kill all the Alliance leaders, only Jaina Vox Machina showed up with her magic boat and save everyone, we lost the city for literally no reason.

  2. Scepter of Tides, one of two objectives of our whole war campaign: you guys steal it without us even knowing.

  3. Derrek Proudmoore, the other objective of our whole war campaign: Baine hands him back and despite very obvious foreshadowing, Blizzard just forgets to have anything happen so he’s fine and it all meant nothing.

  4. The Zandalari fleet, the point of us even being there. You bomb it during your war campaign and we don’t even know about it.

  5. Raid on Dazar’alor: you take what you want and leave, kill Rastakhan, and lose exactly nothing.

  6. Arathi: lost by the Horde

  7. Darkshore: lost by the Horde

Seriously, Saurfang wasn’t just dunking on Sylvanas when he said she “just keeps losing.” We didn’t win a single thing aside from the “win” of going off-script when a maniac says to burn a whole city.

Fewer*

As in “there are fewer relevant characters on Alliance.”

Devs don’t hate the alliance. It’s much worse than that.
The devs just have no clue what to make interesting to the alliance.

All the Devs have done, is what the Devs think is interesting to devs and not to Alliance players.

Junkgnomes and kultirans are a testament to how far from the alliance the Devs are when it comes to bringing something remarkable, in tune to players who choose Alliance.

Never mind the work the devs had with kultirans, doing everything in them from scratch, if the model doesn’t arouse charisma in the players.

It’s no use for racial overpowers in junkgnomes, if they’re not popular or interesting, especially when they have a totally disconnected lore with BfA, coming out of a filler content like Mechagon, which has no connection with Azshara, N’zoth or anything else!

Junkgnomes are so irrelevant that we have to stop what we are doing in Nazjatar, to go to a junkyard, kill rare mobs and collect mounts.
The place is just a Timeless Isle with themed gnomes.

But what destroyed any fondness they might have, was pairing junkgnomes with vulperas, a charisma-selling race that has a new look that has, since it was seen, aroused public interest and is not a goblin remake.

junkgnome is just a gnome with mechanical arms and legs that makes it impossible for you to use any mog other than made for them without appearing to be wearing diapers or baby clothes.
They are laughable. In a negative way.

The problem is that Blizzard has made a lot of “compromise” for the alliance and this has generated a growing discredit that has led to the moral ostracism we have today.

Nothing is worth the alliance, just because the Devs seem to prefer to keep trolling against the faction either in development and narrative or in allied races.

Devs do not hate the alliance, but are making choices that are making someone who chooses the blue faction feel dissatisfied when they continually see their capitals being destroyed, their leaders portrayed as candidates for the 3 stooges and never taking any tough action against the horde. Never!

No one at ally asked for the bee to be a “single alliance mount” but for the alliance to have a “single mount of kultiras”, as the horde had at Zandalar.

Now, why should I try to win the bee if I can’t use the bee with the vulperas I’m going to create in the horde?

This only served to make the horde players even more contemptuous of the alliance and not even thinking about fetching the bee, and they only play the alliance for tourism, because for them the alliance is a boring faction, but not even when the horde says that, the devs believe that something is wrong in the way of narrating ally and the horde.

And that ends up taking players into the horde or out of the game.

Have Mercy

we spend the last half half of legion being alliance cheerleaders. Despite you know… MANY races having issues with the legion. /shrug

Your sarcasm aside, I agree. I am Horde for life (too lazy to begin leveling Ally toons). Nevertheless, I can appreciate a good story and this story has been horrible to the Alliance as well has content such as mounts, as you point out.

Throw the Alliance a bone already. They did get a bee mount, though… :stuck_out_tongue:

What mounts, exactly, do they not have access to?
