I’m guessing it’s the Battle for Lordaeron quest that has blocked my characters in this way. It seems to me it’s horribly bad design that forces an autoaccept quest on you the instant you reach 110 that will permanently lock you out of the rest of the expansion you are in.
I would have declined that quest when those characters leveled up to 110 yesterday. I was not given the option.
Edit to add: So I took that 111 character to the intro BfA content. Afterwards, the ship appeared in the harbor. I boarded, clicked the question marked npc to complete. And the ship disappeared again. I guess I’m going to have to summon that character back to argus from now on. Perhaps I should just keep all my characters on argus, since that seems to be what that part of the game has been redesigned to get me to do.
Small indie company.
Discovered a specific issue. Taking my second character to the docks (a 110), I could see the boat there. On turning in The Hand of Fate, the boat disappeared again. But in the split second before it did, I could see that another quest had popped up, one I did not have time to take before the boat vanished.
This is definitely a bug. The boat should continue to be there until I accept the follow-up quest, which probably was supposed to put me into a cinematic or scenario.
Someone in a bug reports thread came up with a workaround.
- Hand in The Hand of Fate on the ship. The questgiver tries to give you Two If By Sea, but she and the ship immediately despawn.
- Fly out of town. When you come back, the ship will have respawned. Take Two If By Sea. The ship immediately despawns.
- Fly out of town. When you come back, the ship will have respawned. Click the questgiver and then “I’m ready”.
Done.
