The group loot experiment is a failure

Then they aren’t in the right guild.

My guild is only managing tier, weapons, and trinkets.

Haven’t had an issue yet.

It showcases who the loot insert bad word here are

Hard agree

all good, the subscription numbers will tell the tale. Raiding participation is in free fall.

People say that every expansion.

I would love to see your numbers.

The current iteration of group loot is tremendously worse than shadowlands personal loot.

One person being able to need and get the same tier token twice, duplicate items / tokens dropping when only one player can use them, and not being able to roll for xmog on LFR make group loot a profound failure.

Even worse is that there is no opt in/out.

Give us back personal loot and master loot.

I’m having a blast losing every roll on items I genuinely need. Went from guaranteed at minimum 1 item per raid clear in Shadowlands with how PL worked to losing every roll multiple weeks in a row. A blast.

It should be:

LFR - personal loot

Normal and above - the raid leader picks the loot option, whether that’s personal loot, group loot, or master loot

I would love to start my own Normal and above PUG raid, but frankly I just don’t wanna deal with loot drama and wish I could just select personal loot and not have to worry about it. The option should exist for what people want to run when it comes to loot in their own raid instead of it being forced upon us. This is always what people were asking for when they were asking for changes to master loot, group loot, and personal loot.

Who said its an experiment ?

I do believe they want the experience of “loot” dropping off the bosses body to be there and allowing more interaction. It’s a nice sentiment but in practice it doesn’t seem to be that positive? Legion to me had the perfect loot balance.

If you were in a guild group(80% of the raid in the guild) you could choose to enable ML if you wanted. If you weren’t in a guild group you couldn’t. Guilds that are competitive and view loot as a tool not a reward can enable ML, and guilds/pugs that view loot as the reward get group loot/personal. Doesn’t make sense why loot was changed after Legion, A very weak argument(imo) at the time was used to justify it.

The sentiment of “guilds abused people” doesn’t stick. If someone doesn’t like the guild they’re in or the raid team prefers a certain loot system, that is a guild issue that needs to be addressed within the guild or people need to simply leave the guild.

The best take I’ve seen tbh. The whole reasoning behind removing master looter never made sense and never had substantial evidence to support it. Loot systems since then have just felt clunky and bandaids compared to the solution.

Complaints about no loot are legitimate if players get no loot. Just because you think some guy doesn’t deserve loot because you want to punish him for being a casual, doesn’t mean the system should be redesigned to let you decide that you should get loot but other people shouldn’t.

You 100% got that removed from leveling gear. You even made it so half the gear dropping in BfA leveling dungeons can’t even be equipped. But nooo… you can’t be happy if somebody nicely asks for gear, because you think they should be banned from the game just for being casual.

for one i am not asking for players to be banned
and for two with PL i got nothing but gold in sl raids

and what i was saying if they went back to pl players will still complain about the no loot

Human rights abuse doesn’t really happen, it’s overblown. Those whiny women and minorities always sqawking about not wanting to be robbed blind, or outright abused and killed. Human rights psh, if your country doesn’t treat you well, then you can just leave. Nothing stopping you from leaving your family and walking across the line to another country. You chose to live there, it’s your fault. /s

Does this little change of context make how ridiculous your viewpoint is, clear to you?

Is this a new thread whining about loot rules? or one of the old ones?
I’m too lazy to scroll up.

No it wouldn’t.

I started playing this version and I got in 10 dungeons via the RDF tool (amazing tool, wish wotlk classic had it) and each dungeon i got in, i got zero loot but everyone else was getting 2 to 3 pieces of loot from each boss… I asked if there was an addon I was missing to have loot and they said no, you just have bad luck.

Considering raid drops are 1 per 5 loot eligible people and LFR wings are normally 3 bosses it is actually impossible for everyone to win an item even with PL.

This is impossible.

Dungeons still use PL and are limited to 1 drop per person.

The GL being discussed is raids only.

Yes, human rights abuse, your physical geographical location, family members, getting to a boarder, applying for asylum, etc., is the same thing as typing /gquit.

Easy fix is to unlock all lower tmogs in item acquisition. So say you do Heroic and you get tier. Well it unlocks tmog for normal and LFR. Then set loot restrictions to ilvl. Easy fix, everyone wins. Therefore Blizz will never do it.
