It seems we will have Gilgoblin in the Blackwater Cartel but also some other ones in Undermine.

Not sure what all they’re doing there. I mean, they’d be much better being in a place like Orgrimmar and other Horde cities. Especially on the Horde side of that character creation screen.
I’ll have to see if we can learn more when the next patch comes out and we can investigate in-game. It’ll be coming out on February 25th:
I’ll help report anything of Kelfin interest after the patch releases.

TBH I think they are heading to make newer races as neutral races.
While I can see future neutral races being a thing, I can see faction specific races being a thing. For example Ogres are just a Horde race, Broken being an Alliance race, and the Haranir being open to both.

If Unshackled could be officially a part of the Horde, we could give a spotlight to the Gilboblin but also we could see how the Unshackled (and the Gilboblin) could interact with the Bilgewater Cartel, the Orcs, the Darkspear Trolls and the Tauren in Ogrimmar.

Honestly they could be a playable race at any time. that blizzard is being so stingy on releasing the races that have all but already joined each faction for each faction is ridiculous. imo.

With the BfA TW, I do the Unshackled reputation again. I really think they need to be playable for the Horde. Everything here ready for this. The Unshackled have a very interessing background and it could work pretty well in the Horde. Also we could expand it in the Horde if they could become playable in the future.

One interesting note about one of the Neri quotes I saw: “Have you seen the ankoan? Impressive fighters, but a bit standoffish. Too bad. We’d be stronger together.”.
So it could be possible for the Unshackled to work with the Ankoan against the Naga and Azshara in an expansion or for a patch.
