Shadowlands will end with Bolvar putting the crown back together sealing the wound in the sky and sitting back on the throne. For most intents and purposes it’ll be like shadowlands never happened.

I’m pretty sure necromancy can still be practiced without a Lich King.
And then ALIENS will descend from on high and land on top of Wal-Mart and when they step out into the moonlight, we will see that they all look like the Flying Spaghetti Monster. They will say, “We have come to topple Capitalism and save you all from wage slavery.” and they will immediately incinerate all the greedy people, all the politicians of the world who mislead their countrymen, and everyone who manipulates money at the expense of others. And then they will produce a plant that, when cultivated, will generate the perfect foodstuff for maintaining human health and it will also make you feel drunk and stoned every time you eat it. Then Chris Metzen will come back as President of Blizzard and he will revive the Elite Tauren Chieftain band, getting Samwise back on board. There will be an EXPLOSION of heavy metal and attitude at Blizzard HQ and all these macho ideas will come flooding in and get aggressively implemented, and a burly orc will stomp Sylvanas’ face in with his big, spikey boot.

For real. What do people think Necrolytes were? What do people think Gen 1 Death Knights were? You don’t need a Lich King to create more Death Knights.
Forging Runeblades isn’t some big secret anymore. Forging Mourneblades is a bit more sketchy but it isn’t as if Shadowmourne wasn’t a thing.
They could make a new one from scratch right? Wasn’t it made in the shadowlands. There must always be a lich queen after all.

I know they’re not the same thing hence “Gen” but functionally Death Knights are Death Knights. We can always get a new gen of Death Knights post-Shadow Lands.
Not the player characters, no. They have defined starting experiences that are locked to the type of DKs that they are.
They aren’t going to create a new starting experience and delete the old ones and there’s no reason to.
A) They already did it once, it isn’t IMPOSSIBLE for them to do it again.
B) This is not about the PCs. Lore-wise, they can create more DKs even if the PC has a fixed origin.
No they didn’t. There are two starting experiences, nothing was deleted.
I was discussing the player characters. Because lore-wise, there’s no one that can make DKs like our own DKs. And Blizz isn’t creating a new gen of lore-only DKs.
They fill the roll of raising in place of the pc when the pc is not a Dk.
I haven’t rolled a non-Allied DK since they added the new stuff.
Once Blizzard starts adding new races again, we’ll see what the landscape looks like. It probably wouldn’t take much to have a non-LK or maybe Mograine induct the PC if they’re a new race added post-DF.
