The Feeling of Getting a Blue Piece in Classic

In classic getting a blue, heck a green is nice!

But that feeling of getting a blue is amazing…

For me, Sentry Cloak… I also loved Animated Chain Necklace for my resto druid.

Favorite blue item drop that makes you jump up and down when it drops at any level?

The Herod’s Shoulders and the Ravager was always cool…

The mecha-helmet from Gnomeregan was always a favorite xD

Though I never saw them drop… the two swords from Zul-Farrack, though I think they are epic… If I ever got those, man my jaw would drop.

I really felt awesome when I collected the full set.

They were blue. Combining them makes them an epic 2H

Getting my first ever Gold piece in Westfall, vendoring Deadmines loot to the secret trader in Moonbrook.

I remember that moment so well.

I had a stranger give me 2g one time when I first started playing. I was SO excited about that, I told my 60 friend and he laughed at me for a few days. “Wow! 2 whole gold?!”

I got the Pacifier on my Paladin for leveling and it was absolutely wonderful.

4.0 attack speed during the time that Seal of Command was 100% of weapon damage. Getting a SoC + white crit was thing of beauty.

Getting that cloth pants on my paladin and equipping it in front of those filthy clothies.

So satisfying :weary:

I was more excited for my first grey shoulders in classic than my first legendary in legion.

Getting a Blue in Classic will have a more rewarding feeling than any Epic in retail today. As a Warrior for example getting Whirlwind Axe (I think that’s what it was) lasted me for quite some time before replacing it.

First shoulders definitely felt like a huge upgrade, even more so if they were Common Quality over Poor.

Blues weren’t all that special; you could land blues out of RFC/DM and by 60 you should be fairly well decked out in them. Purpz, however, gave you a tingle.

2g is a lot. A starting character can go a LONG way with 10g (always assuming they’re not just dumping the gold on short term AH gear).

I remember farming the birds in Westfall, because they occasionally dropped a breast bone that was worth over 10s. I was farming them to get 2g to buy a pearl so I could get a mace crafted.

Meanwhile on retail, greens and blues are instant vendor trash.

Great game design, Blizzard.

This, exactly

the day I happen to get “POD” to drop. I was running around the house.

I had rare drop from a raptor in wetlands day 1… the cheese was spread that day.
