Falling to your knees in Walmart because a title from visions in BFA is being added back in is a crazy thing to pearl clutch over.

Eh, will we though? On paper, yeah, but if it’s anything like the mage tower, it won’t necessarily be the same challenge in reality. I mean, our characters and the game have changed a lot since 8.3. Plus, if they decided there was room to add an additional 3 masks on top of the 5 we had back then, it sounds like 5-masking may actually be easier this time around.

Timed Exclusivity on items in videogames is dumb. Caring that other people can now get a virtual item you got years ago because it’s no longer exclusive is really dumb. That virtual item being a title of all things makes this really really dumb.

If it’s anything like the new mage tower, it’d be way harder than it was back then with the player not being able to outgear the challenge in which case the old rewards returning would be even more justified.

It’ll never be the same or quite as it was.
But I think what counts is it being in the spirit of the original content / achievement.
Bringing back the Undying title for anyone who completes Naxx without dying, today, isn’t in the spirit of that Achievement. Because it’s beyond trivial content.
But doing a 5mask Horrific Vision run for revamped and max-level tuned Horrific Visions? That’s at least in the spirit of The Faceless One.
And they might tweak it to be for 8 mask runs not 5.

Lol lmao if people can earn the title by suffering through the joy that is five masks why not let them? I’m looking forward to getting the better title, but even then I’m also not looking forward to the cc clown fiesta that just 5 masks could create.
If they bring back old stuff they should bring back old rewards. Bring back the mage tower weapons new mage tower is harder anyway due to gearing. If we ever get a timewalking naxxramas make a no death achievement and bring those titles back, it’d be cool. I legit can’t see a world where you do the scarab gate stuff though it was exclusively for one person per server and I think that differentiates it same as any other realm first type achievement.
I earned the title back then and i really can’t be bothered getting my knickers in a knot over it, however i will say this… if they keep bringing back old/cool/rare stuff, especially stuff that we were pushed to get because of FOMO, people are going to stop believing anything Blizzard says.
I can definitely see a lot of people hitting a point where they just won’t bother with hard stuff when it’s current, because it’ll probably come back or be given away later on anyway

I suppose it depends on how it ends up looking after the PTR’s all finished. 8 masks could very well be harder, but with that being the new ‘maximum’ I’m doubtful whether 5-masks now being positioned as slightly past halfway up that ladder will be the same relative difficulty.
We also don’t know if any associated rewards will be time-limited this time around, or if we’ll be level- or gear-locked. If we can come back in Midnight and stomp these at whatever the next level cap is like we’ve been able to do with BfA visions all this time, then there definitely won’t be any challenge involved at that point either.

As someone who got the title back then, it doesn’t bother me at all. I can still use the title just fine even if people earn it this time around.

They brought mage tower back when it supposed to unobtainable after legion. Titles are worthless compare to artifact weapon appearance…
I believe there is a degree of “apples vs oranges” here. The faceless title from the upcoming Horrific Visions 2: Void boogaloo is from doing up to 5 masks or higher from said upcoming horrific visions. Meaning players are still basically doing the challenge, just at a higher level in exchange for not as OP corruption effects. However since the new visions are going to be tuned for level 80, you can only out gear them, not out level.
Meanwhile if they brought back titles like the Immortal, where is the level appropriate challenge? Unless they restrict it to only level 30’s at or below a certain ilvl like Herald of the Titans still is.
And this is coming from someone who also has the faceless one title.
There is a different title for 8 masking it it seems. You get “the mad” as a title.

it’d be really funny if they just gave “the mad” title to people who complain about the faceless one coming back. I’d still do 8 masks for it since I was gonna anyway but with a title as fun as the mad blizz could make some moves.
My vote is for giving them “The Pearl Clutcher”
People were giving away the title in discords when bored because they had to 5 mask their own zones for rewards.
It’s definitely not akin to other prestige ones.
