The entire blizz IP is under threat.

The only threat Blizzard is under is unruly children who think they can armchair design a product better than them. Prove me wrong. Start up your own company and design the WoWkiller.

Do that and I will say I was wrong. Until then, sod off.

That's a really dumb argument. That's like saying: if you don't like how politicians are running things you should run for office.

a convention comprised of PC gamers

You're wrong about that. You might only play on PC but they haven't been exclusively PC for a bit now and the world isn't exclusively PC. They're now hitting PC and expanding to console and now mobile.

And the convention is for all that they do and have done and will do. It's not all about you. And, again, salty Diablo fans, they don't even know what they don't know.

Mean while the overwatch team has just released the first ever prototype for viewer controlled, in game camera control system, for live esports.

Mobile wut?
Oh wow, that thing Dota 2's had for almost a decade.

Get over yourself, customers can and should express dissatisfaction with a product. Don't know why you take issue with that. By your thinking no one should criticize a restaurant until they open one. That is truly ridiculous.

It is because you wouldn't win. The barrier for entry is way too high. It's a meaningless argument.

"We have many of our best developers now working on new mobile titles across all of our IP's"

They are shifting their top talent to mobile games. In what way is that not a bad omen for any of the rest of their games we play?

"The fidelity on mobile devices is becoming close to the kinds of games we can see on PC and console."

mobile games have the same loyalty and support from their fanbases as PC/console franchises....... LOL

Who the !@#$ owns a PC or even a laptop in 2018?

Like really I don't know ANYBODY at all besides my self in real life who uses a computer.

PC gaming is dead, I mean just look at twitch, its the same top 5 most popular games for years and years and years and years and years.
Oh no.
They're following shifting market demographics.

It's almost as if everybody and their dog has a mobile phone now, and the tech is supporting more complicated games.

PC gamers are a bunch of entitled babies.

Entitled to what, an opinion as a customer? Are you saying you are not?

I can't believe Wyatt is still doing this, he just sits there hanging his head. Must be a good paycheck.

No paycheck is worth the castration of your principles. Wyatt, and Blizzard in general, should be ashamed of themselves.

PC gamers are a bunch of entitled babies.

No, it's called being a good consumer. When a company hypes up PC gamers, and then instead of delivering a delicious steak we get a lump of tofu, we have a right to dissatisfaction and to complain. Gotta love the brainless media sycophants who just claim that all gamers are "sexist" or "entitled", just because they dare to criticize the companies they buy from for delivering subpar products.

Diablo Immortal is a wretched sack of crap, and Blizzard should be ashamed of themselves. Smart phones are not the future of "gaming", most people don't use them for gaming, or at least not hardcore gaming. You can't sit down for around 10 hours exploring the world of a game on a smartphone, unlike with a PC or console game. Mobile games are just cheap crap that they can make vast amounts of money from, they aren't deep or meaningful.

Yeah we shouldn’t expect quality products, shame on us.

Does Blizzard even exist anymore or is it just a Name now. with the real company being Activision.

When you think about, just about every single person involved in making that name in the 90s and early 2000s is gone now. It's essentially an entire new crop of developers who had nothing to do with the titles that made Blizzard a household name.

That said, I don't believe this is Blizzard becoming Activision. This is the gaming landscape we live in today and, to be honest, even the current course Blizzard is charting is still better than what most AAA gaming companies are doing right now.
Umm i just have to laugh at the tinfoil hats in here. Seriously get a grip, he even says in the video for diablo players on pc at 8:18 in that they have teams working on diablo pc and that the future is bright for the pc game.

Do you people just look at the first 5 seconds and call it? Seriously blizzard is a becoming a multi platform game company. Thats good for everyone. Take off the tin foil, the microwaves are frying your brains
This is the average Blizzard Customer, complete with a visual.

What is it about pure PC gamers and being unable to function with other platforms? Consoles aren't going to die off. Mobile games aren't going to die off.

Don't try to reason with these people. Blizzard has been saying, since BEFORE Blizzcon to not expect anything big announced yet except for some "Diablo-related news" ( https://us.diablo3.com/en/blog/22549433 ), and that they have other Diablo projects in the works, but people didn't read. People didn't listen. They STILL don't read. They STILL don't listen.

Just let them throw their pity parties. Let them howl at the moon. Let them shout and yell that they're "not entitled". Sure, it's embarrassing, but it'll pass. Eventually.
It's inevitable. China is just too lucrative to ignore. It's not the first time this has happened, either - Hollywood has already sold out to China. The video game industry is just following in it's very profitable footsteps.

Chinese gamers love cellphone games for whichever reason (over-reliance on mass transit or some such), so don't be surprised when it comes to Chinese companies buying up American developers to feed the dragon.

To be fair, China is part of Blizzard's market. It makes sense to at least make one single game for their specific market. No need to get all "Red Scare" over it.
