The Elune paradox

Or reports of her power are vastly exaggerated.

Gods work in mysterious ways.
But for real, it could easily be explained as, Elune is omniscient, therefore she knew the outcome of the War, and knows what happens after. And decided hey, it’s better if I don’t immediately intervene.

After all, she now has the Agent of her wrath wandering about the Shadowlands. One could argue, Elune saw the burning of Teldrassil necessary to power up Sylvanas, in order for Sylvanas to tear open the Veil to the Shadowlands, so the champions of Azeroth could fix the machine of death.

In short, we don’t know her motives.

Per WoW lore, this explicitly is not what that means.

Not really weird considering that’s the culture of most of these developers. I’d bet none are well studied theologians rather than ‘this looks and sounds cool’. I find it more silly to think any academic angle is useful in what was probably an extremely casual design.

Shadowmeld is anyway a blessing of Elune, Tyrande says so in wc3. So you don’t really need the NW to use shadow.
Maiev’s blink also seems to be more akin to a shadow power than arcane.

Seemed like a normal blink to me.

What’s a normal blink?

Well you just said. Arcane.

Maiev’s blink is a gift from Elune, or so i’ve heard.

Maiev herself was very anti arcane usage, being one of the more extremists in night elf society.

She’s also rather delusional. And we know things like certain moon powers are arcane.

Or they used to be, at least. If I recall correctly, balance druid effects were only arcane element purely as a gameplay limitation. The developers felt it was a waste of time to add a new element purely for lunar magic representing half of one spec of one class. It’s probably one of those soft-retconned things because of how unimportant the distinction was on a mechanical level.

Yeah, but mages’ blink is canonically teleportation. Its just called Blink it was carry over from the Warden spell in wc3.
I don’t think Maiev ever learnt a mage teleport spell, which is why I imply it’s a shadow power like all her other spells, but one she gets from Elune.

What I’m saying is same power from a different source. We know Elune deals with arcane sometimes. We know the common blink spell is arcane. Seems likely they’re the same via different applications of the same power.

Not saying it 100% couldn’t be Shadow. Just no compelling reason for me to think a power from a goddess that also deals with arcane relating a spell that’s typically arcane is not arcane.

They’re not making Elune to be like the God of Abraham, nor has that been the overall construction. This is simply not the reality. It’s incoherent, and dumb.

Not saying they are. But they also have probably not done any actual theological research into any other religious systems. And given the culture of the developers, probably some degree of bleed.

Nah its dumb, prove it, demonstrate some bleeding that is 100% God of Abraham superimposed upon Little Miss Pseudo Varda Neopaganesque Moon Goddess Elune

This is a fallacy… “Elune can’t be a true Goddess because bad things happen” Well, if all conflict was just resolved with divine intervention, then we wouldn’t have a very interesting setting.

There is no paradox here. Just anti Nelf wishful thinking.

Are you going to accept the evidence if I give it to you? Seems like you’ve made up your mind with the whining.

Not whining, just dumb and a reach beloved

So that would be a no.

It becomes whining when you repeat it three or four times in sequence.
