The Elephant in the Room (Health Pools) The biggest Design Issue

Phrasing like this is wildly disingenuous. It was 80% for PvE and 20% for PvP, and that latter share shrank at a rapid rate.

according to you?
there are pve servers.

why do so many of you forum/reddit people always state anecdotal evidence, or your own opinions as fact. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

after every raid we could queue up for BGs to test our new power from the abilities we got. PvP was ALWAYS a way to test how much your character has improved.

There are tons of players that can personally attest to pvp being a big part of the game, the vast majority of well known and viral wow players come from a pvp embracing background and are known for pvp.

Yet you PvE Andy’s are here trying to deny the fact that this dynamic exists. Purely based on your own anecdotal experience.

Pvp has always been a pillar of not only wow itself but the culture surrounding it from the very beginning

This could be easily offset by just adding more stam to player gear i suppose. Or even better, some form of damage reduction on pvp gear.

That’s wishful thinking considering how underbudgeted stamina is on BFD gear relative to damage output.

Stamina on gear naturally increases at higher levels.

Why would they stack a bunch of stam on level 25 gear when the main purpose at that level is to boost damage output

more anecdotes. ok buddy

Now consider next phase when we are doing 3-4 times the damage (or more) in output of Vanilla 40’s but have relative HP. It’s not going to work. Damage is going to continue to scale exponentially but our HP doesn’t. Hence the problem.

In SOD we are going to be doing TBC/Wrath type of Dps with Vanilla Health Pools. The damage is 1 or 2 expansions ahead of the player Health.

You’re not ready for Whirlwind Axe Gaming next phase.

Bro you talk to much, have you not played WsG? Game is way less bursty than Wotlk pvp.

Exactly

Just because it was different for YOU doesn’t mean that dynamic didn’t exist for a huge number of other people

The fact that the vast majority of well known and viral content on the Internet for wow from back in the day was either pvp videos, comedic/narative machinima or memes, not videos about PvE content, says it all

Pvp was always a big part of wows popular culture

Was there any famous video of wow PVE gameplay outside of “Leeeerrrroooy Jenkins”?

I don’t remember people care about pve 20 years ago…

In TBC they had to increase the stamina value of greens/blues to help with the increase in damage from the new talents, items, and a spells/abilities.

Not sure how they could implement it, it is very clear we need way more stamina. Do you think we’re going to get a bunch of defensive runes in the later phases? Unlikely.

It did exist for me. I am a primary PvP player and always have been. I’m just also aware that I am in a minority.

PvP having more spectator value doesn’t change its position within the game.

It’s always been part of WoW’s culture. A relatively small part. However, because WoW was absolutely monstrous that small part still represented a very large absolute playerbase.

I do think there will be some defensive and utility runes. Along with other spec defining ones. Like I said they could have it where you have a Rune bonus from using multiple runes gives you 50% HP.

When do we start to feel the massive increase in power?

Next phase will be a dramatic increase. This phase you should start to feel strong in BiS but keep in mind how the game would be right now if they didn’t nerf by 80% and gut certain things. Many of these nerfs were due to PvP and if we had higher Health Pool maybe they wouldn’t of needed to be so harsh.

Also keep in mind Mob health scaling. A level 60 mob has what 600% more HP. Just a normal mob not an Elite. So how are we going to deal with these mobs questing unless the power isn’t significant.

So if we are going to have all this power to deal with these mobs with massive HP then how are players supposed to survive? They can’t. More runes, new tier/epics and eventually Legendaries. Runes scale with level too. Power creep will be insane. (which I’m all for it’s just players need more HP)

Pve casual spotted. Laugh at this person, allliance cant pvp
