Not nerf it so that it affects all other pets. No one is crying a cat or a wolf is op.
Wind serpent is already dead when phase 2 rolls out. There’s no need to make any changes to it. It doesn’t get any new spell ranks in phase 2, and it only gets rank 1 dive.
Cat however gets 2 new ranks to both bite and claw, rank 2 dash, and prowl.

Exactly, this was an overreaction to a level 25 cap with a level 25 ability. This won’t be a big issue later on.
They will remove bm for good in p2. They just don’t know how to make games
This is what somewhat puzzles me. Like, were these changes proposed 3 weeks ago, and it just took this long to implement, test, QA, etc.?
Is there some reason to suddenly make yet another change to P1 hunters, like 1000s of people/day unsubbing with the message, “I’m unsubbing because Wind Serpents.”
Have they setup and run some extensive testing on later phase hunters and determined this change to be helpful for P2? (doubtful, considering the focus change in particular seems to be targeting Wind Serpents specifically).
For what it’s worth, I don’t think (yet anyway) that the change is going to be impactful enough for me to really stop enjoying playing hunter, but the timing feels really strange. I suppose the devs may have been on holiday, and that’s why there was a lull in hunter nerfs, and no other reason.
No. These developers don’t play the game. They design off spreadsheets.

I mean, I imagine you’re intending to suggest this in a negative light, but one way to restate what you’ve said is that the developers are less likely to share player biases as they are working with actual data comparisons.
well the first question to themselves is why ppl only play one build, is it because the build op or other builds just undoable?

A lot of people do play the same build, but it’s definitely not the only build. One might argue that any build in a popular guide will be played by the majority because people don’t think for themselves or spend much, if any time reading skills, theory-crafting or actually testing out unique ideas.
Would you rather drive a car built by someone who uses their own cars and experiences what its like to drive them, or by someone whos only experience with the car they built is through an excel table?
Wind serpents wont be meta in p2 since cats will have their sprint ability and higher rank bite/claw.

This is a pretty interesting question to attempt to unpack. What does it mean?
If I say I drive a Toyota, should I ask whether whoever designed parts of the engine drives the same make and model as I do, or another car or other vehicle that uses the same part? What if whoever manufactured those parts is different sets of people, automation, etc. from whoever designed it, and if we follow this idea through?
Or, perhaps we would look at a broader sense at some lead of a design team that came up with external looks for a the car’s design, or engineers that may have evaluated structural integrity or well, it isn’t clear just how many departments, nevermind people might be involved in even small decisions that go into designing a thing, specifying its properties or functions enough to be able to have parts of it fabracted or created, and eventually assembled, etc.
One might say, “You’re thinking too much. Just look at Tesla and use Elon Musk as an example.” To which I’d ask, “And how does that relate to SoD?”

Car manufacturers are very into customer satisfaction surveys thus improve their design. You have Tesla who don’t care about customers .but Tesla can’t stop me enjoying my mustang or raptor. Problem with wow classic, it is the only legendary game I want play. Although I quit after bwl. Because of old fashioned game design. I was hoping sod can improve it

People have too much faith that blizzard can actually “fix” something or make something fun. These are retail devs working on classic, and we all see how well they do in retail. They don’t play their games, as seen from the D4 video of the two developers not using skills lol. Blizzard is a shell of itself and Chris Metzen will not save it
