The reason for that was because many people including myself wanted classic to have no changes, LFD would’ve been a change and in WotLK LFD isn’t a change.

People didn’t use the old lfg system because it was not user friendly at all, and it was most effective to search in trade chat in addition to using the feature if not everyone you needed was on it.
Perhaps some did. I quit retail mostly because of the change to the talent system and because the leveling process had become so nerfed down it bored me. I didn’t like the rush to end game. The lfd had no effect on my decision to quit. I liked it.
The seal change and drum nerf were positive changes. I agree the arena point change was stupid. LFD is a catastrophic change. I too wish duel spec was added in classic vanilla.
Then people do have a choice and if they didn’t like the lfd they could have made the choice to not use it. The fact is the vast majority loved it and used it all the time, by choice.
Right right… but it still happens on last boss quite often.
So you’re clearing some heroic for 30m just for lsat boss item. Like some spell damage weapon. And then boom, lead makes it ML…
We can disagree on whether a change is positive or negative. The difference between you and I is I don’t claim to speak for all the core classic players. I’d be a stupid idiot if I tried to do something like that.

Yeah, this has happened to me in Strath UD, luckly the mount didn’t drop but I do see your point and if you do notice that they change loot rules then just sit out and not do anything.

People chose the path of least resistance when it was available. When everyone can get with a group of bots by doing nothing, people will feel like they have no other choice, and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. And LFD in the game only makes it harder to do groups normally, fueling the system towards LFD use even if only a minority used it at first.
Wait, so your saying I can’t pull a random number out of my *$$ and use it as a statistic by saying something like:
“96% of all classic players love LFD!!!”

If only a minority used it at first and reported back to the majority that it sucked and they hated it less and less people would have tried it and it would have gone on to become unused just as what happened to the lfg. The lfg button on the mini-bar is rarely clicked by anyone. But instead almost everyone who tried the lfd reported back how great it was so it became the default way to find a group, because the vast majority decided it was by far the best way to find a group.
Only because the vast majority of players preferred it. If just 1 third of the players preferred spamming the lfg channel that would have worked too. But you couldn’t even find a tiny fringe of players to use the lfg channel because the lfd was so much better and so popular

it was last in the last patches of wrath retail boy. Okay…classic and tbcc released as is based on last patches. the only changes were raids pulled to be staggered release.
Since lets be honest, some no lifers who you can tell them to touch grass and they’d have to google what grass is to start…would have been done even sunwell in like 4 months if at release.

OP in denial about this which is why it made this post and why it is crying in the forums about LFD. OP just needs to huff the copium and get over it. Grass patch is outside, free to touch
The vast majority of players don’t prefer it. If it’s in the game, people feel compelled to use it, that they have no choice. It’s human nature people take the path of least resistance when it’s given to them, the sh**ty non user friendly lfg didn’t offer that path. Most people at the time of WOTLK’s release didn’t yet foresee the significant negative ramifications of LFD either. Once it’s in, the ruins the game, full stop.
Lack of LFD isnt the only feature in all of classic, btw

The lfg is in the game. They even added a button on the mini-bar so all you have to do is click it to get the the lfg frame. It’s in the game but players don’t feel compelled to use it. It’s clear they don’t prefer it because almost no one uses it. They have a choice and choose to not use the lfg. They choose to stay with the lfg chat channel. But suddenly the lfd is added and by far the vast majority of players use it. Nothing was removed, the lfg chat channel still exists. It sure looks to me that people have a choice and prefer the lfd but for some reason you claim it’s because they suddenly have no choice. /shrug what ever
People use the lfg bulletin board add-on, which is a version of lfg that isn’t complete garbage. People use LFD when it’s out because it requires literally zero effort. You also technically have the “choice” to raid felguard spec, but see how many guilds that aren’t trash that will accept you. It’s human nature to choose the easy path when it’s given, that doesn’t mean people actually prefer that easy path be there in the first place.

Many people wanted classic because of the gameplay. It had nothing to do with any lfd tool. Ppl like you just assume if something is different then people must not like every thing that is different. Just cant comprehend that there is way more wrong with retail. And a tool to help players group up and play together us not one if them.
Stop thinking you have the final say in what we all want and like in classic. Cause what you like, is not what i or many like. Making a list of ppl that you approve of to tank for you. Then spam every class that can tank if they ignore you. No fricken thanks.
Regardless. You have stated you were leading the #nochanges nonsense with classic cause you had to keep it like a museum. So you got it. Classic era servers are frozen in place just for you. Go olay with yourself and stop trolling the rest of us that want a better game than we had the 1st time.
