You’ll still play without it, or go play retail if you don’t. Literally no customers lost for blizzard to not add it to the game. A massive amount lost if it is added to the game.
Stating opinions as facts is fun!
You can always remain in classic vanilla and tbc where it will never have dungeon finder. You’re welcome for the free protip
You actually have some decent points now reading your post but assuming “classic players” will leave is off. You realize retail players leave retail because retail sucks,… it’s not you’r either a classic player or retail player. Lfd will release when wrath drops and wrath will be very successful
Also, I want to point out a “clever wordplay” lie you’re perpetuating.
- Patch 3.3.0 December 8 2009
- Patch 4.0.1 October 12 2010
LFD was implemented for 10 months out of the 24. We didn’t have no LFD for the vast majority of Wrath. Only the slight majority of Wrath, which is why everyone remembers Wrath having LFD in it. ICC was only slightly past the halfway point of the expansion.
When leveling to 60 in classic, I made an effort to make any friends or group up with people while leveling, who I invited to a dungeon. I joined a guild, and invited people to a dungeon through that medium. When I made a 100% random group, if people were good I made an effort to talk, add them to friends list, and invite them again another time. These all make getting into dungeons much easier, mandatory socialization is a core feature of classic wow and old school mmos. On a day where I struggled to find a tank from lfg and didn’t have friends online? I whispered warriors on /who, it doesn’t take that long to get a taker generally speaking. If you do all these things, it’s really not more time consuming then sitting in a queue as dps, sitting in a queue just facilitates sitting afk and anti social elements.
At the end of cataclysm I had met a couple players from a different realm than the one I was on through the random raid finder and we exchanged real ID information to keep in contact with eachother, shortly after that I transferred realms and raided with those guys for 3 years. People act like these things do not occur.
Slight majority in terms of absolute time pre cata, vast majority in terms of the lifespan of new content releases. I hardly consider the 5 month content drought before an expansion as being a core of the expansions experience.
So what you’re saying is you’re a raid-logging player who doesn’t do anything else.
I got my money’s worth the first time around, and my alts appreciated the time in LFD. The eventual faceless NPC effect took a while to happen, which is why it was mostly felt Cataclysm onwards, but I did a lot of Wrath LFDs, long after content was released, and Wrath was the expansion where I got one of every class to max level with decent dungeon gear.
Expand your horizons.
Blizzard didn’t even release guild banks until phase 2, despite guild banks being unanimously beloved by 100% of the playerbase. You can sure bet that a highly controversial system like LFD won’t be added until at the very least until ICC, as it was originally.
By your logic then, you’re arguing against the actual purist implementation of “We get what we got, when we got it”
Nice assumption there. I do a lot of pvp in the days after raid nights, do my dailies and daily dungeon for gold, and occasionally farm. I don’t raid log, and I still find LFD toxic.
I find you not liking LFD toxic to my gaming experience.
Add LFD and if you don’t like it don’t do it.
No. I’m responding to this person that they are dreaming if they think we are getting LFD on day one. If blizzard wouldn’t give us guild banks day 1 (which I think they should have), there is no way they will release a controversial system on day 1.
I’m not a purist, I support changes that are in the vein of the classic philosophy.
Ahhh the vague term that’s different for every single person. Gotcha, “What made classic great in your opinion”
Yeah no, you’re just wrong. If i want to group with randos now i spend 5 seconds looking at the spam torrent that is LFG chat and pick one of the 100 groups looking for a tank. I already don’t talk with the randos or form any “lasting relationships” with them… thats what a guild is for. RDF is coming in wrath, probably right from the start, get over it.
Guild banks were not added on launch and nobody dislikes guild banks. You are delusional if you think a controversial system will release on launch if blizzard post posted a beloved feature.
Guild banks weren’t in at launch because the weren’t done with them yet. Bookmark the thread and you can come back and apologize when you’re proven wrong.
Yes, it was community destroying. Hindsight makes that a clear fact. But it was in Wrath. It’ll be in Wrath Classic. The best you can hope for is it’s not in at Wrath Classic’s launch, since it didn’t exist for most of Wrath.
I hope the LFD comes in the wrath pre-patch
No.
