Just wanted to start some friendly banter about something that happens that I actually find to be a positive out of a negative; or at least a form of entertainment when a BG for one side turns “bad” for whatever reason…

  • First thing that happens is there is generally one or two ragers that start ranting about how bad their faction is and insulting people on their team and this starts the spiral although it can be quite entertaining

  • Next up someone like me, the troll, will attempt to rage / trigger said “rager” by calling him a keyboard warrior, telling him how if he spoke like that to people in person he might have issues

  • Now what happens is generally people start joining vs. the rager, but it can get real interesting if he has some buddies on his side; as then you start getting into some really far out comments and stupidity :slight_smile:

  • There usually is a sequence of insults that the rager will attempt. The first is usually damage if are low for WHATEVER reason. Meaning you might have been flag sitting, but said “rager” really doesn’t care as long as he SOMETHING to insult. It’s also quite possible that you joined late, or that you stopped caring when the shenanigans started…

  • Following the damage or healing insults, you then get arena rating if it applies (even if you don’t do arenas), how horrible a person you might be in real life. The other one that gets you is that sometimes they will say something like “your server sucks” and it’s actually amazing to imagine that someone would believe this would actually be an insult. Really?

The best one is someone insulted the ilevel of my cloak once :slight_smile:

  • Above all and everything, the ragers will always try to make it seem like you are mad at them even when you are having fun! It’s like they need to hold onto that even if they are being owned both in the battle and in the war of words :slight_smile:

  • Now once the BG ends and you leave you know you have done a great job when you get the expected rage whisper with some further insult or swear words; now I NEVER report anyone unless they ignore me and keep typing and have done something that would warrant it but that’s it.

I find it cowardly to tell someone, and then rage on them or whatever, and then ignore them because you can’t handle the discussion…

Anyway that’s it for now just thought I would post this and there’s this prot paladin that I just BGed with that I dedicate this one for :slight_smile:

I see a couple of ragers that must have found my topic :slight_smile:

This wasn’t an essay it was actually a few moments of thoughts based on experiences to type out and it was quite fun to do…

You focus way too much about people who rage and not enough about imbalance. You still lose 80% of BG if you queue alone as a dps. Yeah if you queue as a 5 men team you’ll win all of them or close to it.

Did some bg last week with friends as a team of 5. Won all of them for an entire night. Trying to complete the weekly this week alone as a dps. So far won 1 in about 10 bg which is about the normal winning rate of a dps queuing alone anyway as an alliance it is.

That’s not really my definition of fun personally.

I see kids use this in an attempt to insult people all the time. Is it because they lack the vocabulary or wit to come up with anything original?

Agreed. Seems like my post for “some” reason triggered certain personality types ironically making it seem like they are actually upset at my write up, the fact I took a few moments to discuss something I find amusing about how things go down sometimes.

Oh well would have been cool if there would have been some substance to whatever was posted but it made me chuckle anyway :slight_smile:

more like 40-50%. i aim for 60% win rate and settle for 50. it is hard to top 60 as a solo dps though

Well it depends. Yesterday i was 1 in 10. Today i was 3 for 3 to complete the weekly. It’s very inconsistent. But you have far less impact on the BG as dps than healer. When only 110k-150k HP healer queue a particular day you wont win much.

Yeah, I corrected a rager’s spelling once when he was upset about “loosing” a BG and I got the full-on /whisper “(your damage is bad, the enemy faction of your class did X amount of damage you did, blah blah)”

I just chalk it up to spoiled kids who weren’t taught any manners.

Haha. Yeah I mean what if I was base sitting and doing a good job of picking people off 1v1 who came to cap; there’s no way my damage would be close to being level with some mouthbreather who fought mid getting owned 0-7…

Yet I am bad because of that. Of course it’s just an attempt to reach / grasp for any sort of leverage to support their rage… :wink:

The cool thing is it’s usually very easy to keep them going, and get them to even rage harder with the smiley faces and passive aggressive responses :slight_smile:

me walking into a bg, geared af ready to SLAY

look at teammates, see literally 5 rag and 4 quel’thalas

try to make a plan and type it out in chat, only to be met with jaja’s and /claps

be sad that we lost bg because I’m actually too slow at learning new languages
