On this, I agree.

Bronzebeard cosplaying as a Wildhammer is not an equitable solution. Especially when Wildhammer are much more distinct from Brozebeard than Dark Iron ever were.

yeah they are like night elves, where bronzebeards are like nightborne. wilds vs. city

Nightborne are not Night Elves. They were confirmed to be a difference race, long before there introduction in the Surumar questline.

However, Void Elves are the same race as Blood Elves, which are also High Elves.

i dont have a problem with that.

I was talking rig-wise, not lore-wise.

It seems you missed BFA.

Nightborne have zero good faces and their models are atrocious. Let’s not pretend like they are as awesome as night elves.

I love the nightborne lore, but even after they added in new faces I still can’t bring myself to play one.

It was not a fair trade, and I bet if alliance got nightborne and horde got void elves, there would be all kinds of alliance complaints about the faces and models.

Nightborne aren’t night elves, otherwise their women would hop 3 times in place randomly… jk

Here is the thing, If we have an objective look, the Alliance got the more expensive allied races, as in, they were more difficult to implement.

All Horde allied races use rigs that already existed before, both Zandalari and Nightborne use the night elf Rig, Vulpera uses the goblin rig, Maghar and High mountain is needless to say.

While Alliance LFD and void elves that are just reskins asset-wise, Kultirans had to be made entirely from scratch, so It is basically in terms of game asset, the only true new race, and mechagnomes also had a lot of work done in their robotic parts and animations.

I think void elves were added with purpose, not a very clear one, but it was basically this: “We will dabble into the void in the next expansions and we really could use a void touched race”, and Alleria was the perfect seed. It annoys me when people say people don’t care about void elves, they just want high elves when it is not the case, void elves have players that like them as void elves.

I use this one:

So much this. And the playable Nightborne are different than the actual Nightborne found around Suramar.

It’s really just them refusing to admit alliance got the better end of that particular trade because then that cuts into their “wah wah alliance are victims” narrative they desperately cling to.

I’m quite frankly not a huge fan of ARs on either side, but compare say dark iron to mag’har and it’s a bit painful. The body piercings the mag’har have are pixelated painted on travesties.

“Now ruled by Queen Moira Thaurissan, widow of the late Emperor Dagran Thaurissan and daughter of King Magni Bronzebeard, the Dark Iron clan seek to forge a new future for themselves independent of the tyranny of Ragnaros and his minions, which has long been imposed upon them in their home of Blackrock Mountain, so they have become part of the Alliance. Under Moira’s guidance, some of the Dark Iron clan have even moved into Ironforge to train the local dwarves in the ways of warlocks and mages.”

“If not for the intervention of King Varian Wrynn of Stormwind and his son, Prince Anduin, her brash actions might have sparked another civil war. With Varian’s guidance, control of Ironforge has since been divided equally among the Bronzebeard, Wildhammer, and Dark Iron clans through the Council of Three Hammers.” (The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm)

“The Dark Iron Forgeguard led by Queen-Regent Moira aided in the defense of Ironforge against the Frostmane tribe and the Zandalari ambassador, Hekima, on Shimmer Ridge in Dun Morogh. They defeated their enemies and gained the respect of King Wrynn and the other members of the Council.” (Blood in the Snow)

“To help promote the union of their clans the Council of Three Hammers combined Fenella Darkvire, Carrick Irongrin and Fendrig Redbeard as a team to help rebuild the Jade Serpent statue.” (The Jade Hunters)

“As of the war in Draenor, the Thorium Brotherhood appears to have united with the majority of the Dark Iron clan once again, with Hansel Heavyhands and Burrian Coalpart assisting the invasion of Draenor on the Alliance side. Thaelin Darkanvil was also an important part of the invasion. A Dark Iron expedition was sent into Gorgrond to spy on the Blackrock clan, as they knew the Blackrock orcs better than anyone else in the Alliance expedition. They established Bastion Rise in the savage jungle. The Dark Irons continued participating in the war effort for its remaining duration.”

Dark Iron Dwarves were already a part of the Alliance since Cata/MoP and continue to be a part of the Alliance in WoD and Legion. BfA just gives us the playable race we deserve. :dracthyr_nod:

At least Nightborne got a modified model not like the Void Elves who just got a lazy copy paste. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cool tendrils and the vegeta hairline.

It’s not a plus given that the nightborne model is garbage.

They haven’t been made from scratch. The model existed with BfA already for the NPCs. The animation rigs comes partly from Pandaren. The people tend to oversee these fine details and think that it’s a “complete” new set, which it isn’t, even if Ion Hazzikostas want to praise it as a new shiny car.

The Void Elves are a fatal mistake, period. You can’t simply release a blueberry race while the leader and poster child for the race is a literal High Elf with tattoos, blonde hair and blue eyes. An absolute fatal mistake.

Not only mock you the loyal customer base with this shameful act, it has also massive ripple effects on everything else. The Void Elves are the Jar Jar Binks of World of Warcraft. Nobody appreciates them and they will not be remembered fondly, ever. I see Alliance-players almost daily within the zones. It’s literally 1:10 Void:High at this point, because this is what people want to play. The Void Elves would have been a great addition to the Midnight Expansion… but not the other way around. The developers ruined simply too much with this implementation.

Yes, I know. If you go back and read my postings about the DID… I basically write the very same. Sometimes it worries me how often I have to lecture the so called hardcore group here about the lore, although they only need to read the wiki. The DID are an Alliance-race since Cataclysm. But there is a splinter group which could be made available to the Horde.

Shall I add to the fact that some of the customizations that were for Blood Elves were also given to the Void Elves, but none of the Nightborne got any Night Elf customizations?

And can’t say they weren’t for Blood Elves when the skin tones gives Blood Elf under-armor is also on the Void Elves.

That and some alliance players aren’t happy with their almost exact copy of a horde race, but apparently think nightborne are close enough to night elves that horde players should be happy.
