Void Elves are the improvement and evolution on Blood Elven sensibilities! Though both High/Blood/Void share in the trauma that befell Quel’thelas. Excited to see what he says to my characters.
Im being really generous to Blizzard on this one, but I do think it’s reasonable that not all Dragons are aware of Dracthyr history currently. The only dragons you meet are Ebyssian, Wrathion, and Nozdormu during the starting zone. And then you instantly go from there, to the Dragon Isles expansion. I think it’s possible the guy isn’t aware of what the stories are for Dracthyr.
Also, I don’t know if Forsaken (or Tauren) fit well for the way he was talking. Forsaken absolutely have had traumatic experiences, but he specifically was talking about losing your home for so long, and having it forcibly shifted/warped/messed up. Draenei, Worgen, Belves, Nelves all fit this easy, but the Forsaken are less so in this regard.
I mean…
You literally have old god gunk stuffed in your brain, whispering to you and convincing you lies are truth. Anything you say is suss by default.
That you think this is an improvement over being awesome and sexy and fabulous and fantastic just proves my point; one of the greatest traumas afflicting blood elves is the realization that void elves came from us. It’s like how the drainos must look at the eredar. “If I threw away everything good and amazing and beautiful, I could be this wretched, twisted, ugly thing too…”
The whole land, their structures, etc. were all screwed up both physically and magically, but the forsaken were all forced into doing it themselves on top of that. That’s why I’d put them above the rest.
Sure would be something if, you know… the Devs ever showed that in game or something. Maybe some awesome floating island city type deal in the Telogrus Rift instead of, you know… tents… Or heritage armor that looks elven, rather than stuff they tore off the corpse of a dreadlord and dripped in purple.
The Dracthyr were a secret project between Deathwing and Malygos.
Daiza after having done the questline.
Man. I’m sad now.
I know. I’m just saying that I find it a possible way out for Blizzard that the Dragon simply isn’t aware of the Dracthyr history, and wouldn’t be able to commentate on how they can relate past the generic comment.
As an orc he mentions Nerzhul and the destruction of Draenor. As a vulpera he just makes a comment about there enough war in the world the player could relate. The last one felt like a generic response so I’m guessing not everyone got a special message.
