I donât know that the community as a whole is toxic, but it could be that the players generally talking on chat are. I consider myself non-toxic. However, when Iâm playing - I am playing. I donât really chit-chat during the game unless a Guildie asks a question or needs help.
It could be that the âToxiesâ are not only playing, but itching for a fight and looking for any type of confrontation or place to argue in chat. Iâm just guessing. It could be most people who would have a normal conversation are more interested in playing than in General Chat.

I feel if there were less hindrances to gameplay and more community type mechanics, then players may feel like they are contributing while also being helped. Simple things like this encourage us to be nicer just as hindrances make us frustrated and irritated. Elimination of faction tagging would be a great example.
First off, you started with a toxic comment âi hate this zoneâ, but your point still stands. People in WoW are extra spicy lately since there are so many Trump supporters who are dealing with a lot of hate in real life and are now using WoW as an outlet for their frustrations.
