I’m also 6/9M on my Evoker. Maybe watch your smart reply before it comes back to bite ya, eh?
EDIT: Sounds like original poster got kicked from a group so came to the forums to cry.

an old insult from the good ol’ days is “to you, they’re all cheating”.

Some pugs are…admittedly quite nasty and should be the ones kicked instead most times. The ones who post if not spam the meters in chat though are insufferable. Had a pug once who claimed he was doing the most dps yet it was very clear he never cleared his meters as there was names on them that weren’t in the group. Then someone who had cleared their meters before the fight called them out for being full of it and…yeah it got bad real quick. Almost wish people who post meters let alone false ones without anyone asking for them would just get the boot for trying to start trouble
Congrats you pointed out a very specific scenario where there is a clear and significant difference between Healer HPS numbers in which case the full picture isn’t important your point?
In some cases a dispel is more valuable than healing throughput, also I laugh because I know people who would take excessive avoidable damage for their healing parse.
HPS/DPS is secondary to mechanics, however there are sometimes tells like if someone is vastly underperforming where their spot in the raid gives the boss more health than the weight they are carrying, as there are no mechanics outside of Myhtic Council duck team that would bring a DPS under the tanks.
And yes, context always matters. On Smolderon, if a group wipes, the one who took the least amount of damage might have been part of the problem by not doing the one real mechanic of soaking the tank stack and grabbing orbs.
Remember, the pugs might actually be children, so don’t be too surprised if you get some puggers that act like children. For the same reason, it’s good to be a little graceful with them if you don’t know for sure. Anyone can make an account or log into their dad’s account and play without supervision. It is normal for kids to play video games where I’m from.
What do you mean what is the point? It’s obvious.
Healers don’t get and certainly don’t deserve some blanket pass for explaining away their poor performance. When anyone is significantly lower than their peers on meters and specifically it is not an augvoker who is literally mechanically built around sacrificing their own personal output to boost the output of others, you’re being carried plain and simple and in a pug, that is just begging to be kicked.
Pugs aren’t going to be parsing logs to find the nitty gritty reasons why maybe it isn’t 100% your fault…you’re being perceived as dead weight and probably actually are. If your contribution is so miniscule the group can sacrifice your spot and be none the worse off except “maybe” dispels or some very niche utility that can still probably be played around without too much effort.
Meters matter whether people who live in queue content primarily want to believe or not. In a pug, nobody has time to do anything more than base level looks to find out who isn’t dispelling, interrupting, soaking, etc.
There is always queue content with the super low barrier to success if at all else.
The scenario you pointed out where a healer who is ACTIVE and doing a significant amount less healing compared to all the other healers in the party is quite specific and I’d imagine quite uncommon unless the person running the group is inviting literally anyone including say Healers wearing gear fresh from hitting lvl 70 which is way below IL required who want a carry to free powerful gear.
Also as Brak said above
High HPS doesn’t instantly mean great healer that’s doing mechanics like how much of that HPS is used on healing NPCs? How much of that healing is on Heal Absorbs from stack mechanics? How many dispells are they doing if any? Your HPS number bars on details won’t tell you that.
Pugs look for easy excuses all the time. Thankfully the one time someone blamed me for something that wasn’t my fault, I was able to point out the exact reasons. Of course my damage will be lower on trash if the two melee DPS in a key have very few interrupts and Crushing Depths never gets healed off and kills me.
Though I will accept when I make mistakes, once someone starts an uninformed blame game is when the metaphorical gloves come off.
Yup why I don’t like healing PuGs and will only do it for people I really like
Remember doing a Brakenhide key back in season 2 group fell apart after a single wipe on Hackclaws Warband cause no one destroyed the Hextrick Totem that had me incapacitated resulting in everyone dying and the blame was put on me great times.
Why were they wiping?
Before I got there I was told damage / mechanics. When I got there I saw too many people dying before phase 1. At the end of the day, it was 2/4 of the healers weren’t dispelling so likely looking for a carry, and they were told what to do and where to do it, 1 flubbed it and then when one that wasn’t dispelling was removed they pulled the boss, wiped the group and basically everyone left.
Tuesday rule with pugs or its a prog run. Or better yet just join a guild. Can do a full clear in less than 2 hours.
Yeah I ignored this advice for far too long, finally found my guild and love it. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Just felt like I might be able to help a friend, no dice. I gave him the same advice.
I feel your pain bud, i pugged heroic for 3 weeks after my guild quit raiding to get my leggo and the raid was smooth until tswift where every single pug felt like prog and then fryakk was full of high end players shooting for leggo so it was a 1 or 2 shot.
15 wipes is a loooong time for a pug to fail before it disbanded tho.
You have to be actually bad to realise this is not true. If you’re normal, you think it is.
I haven’t seen that happen in years. It’s not the norm.
In pugging, it feels like Smolderon and Tindral are the hardest. Which is hilarious, because they are so easy.
Usually I run into DPS player problems not dropping geyser at the right place or all running opposite directions for Tindall dispel (even after begging the group to go into the direction of a set marker multiple times)
But
This week it was a plethora of tanks who taunted too early on smolderon or wouldn’t move tindral out of fire beam
sounds like he should try not pugging.
there are benefits to joining a guild. we one-shot heroic tindral on a weekly basis in our alt raid.
