I think the only really well received cov abilities for MW were Fallen Order (as an extremely needed completely passive burst healing option) and then Weapons of Order (because it would proc celestial, but the EF reset was super fun, would be nice to have it be mana free as the biggest drawback of EF->WoO->EF was the mana requirement)
Really we should just see the following:
1)Mistwrap redesigned. The 10% increased healing and duration are rolled into EVM. MIstwrap is now a 2s cast time ability that generates a protective wrapping of mists around allies, shielding them.
2)Rushing Jade Wind duration decreases to 6 seconds but healing and cooldown kept the same. This way it serves as a bursty passive AoE heal. As of right now, the duration is too long to be relevant in things like M+ or raid because either it doesnât do enough healing fast enough in M+ or the raid is topped off by the time RJW is halfway through the duration.
This way, RJW becomes a competitive choice as a passive bursty AoE heal but you have to choose between it and the mass chi cocoon depending on the scenario

Fallen Order was pretty divisive, especially since it was essentially forced as the âbar noneâ healing option. Weapons of Order had a similar thing since a fair number of people donât really like Essence Font.
In truth every covenant was fairly divisive for one reason or another.

Not on the WW side. It was weapons of the order until Bone Dust was buffed and the leggo let it passively happen. Then in pvp some people stayed WoO for burst but most still used BdB.
Fallen Order and FLS no one took ever unless they where just 100% memeâing or literally refusing to play what worked.
Nothing divisive about it. You took the one covn that worked, WoO at the start of SL then BdB at the end, and nothing else.
The fact some dev even put FLS in the WW tree shows how out of touch with the monk community they are. The fact they buffed FLS shows how little/none care they give to feedback.

i canât speak for pvp but for pve: ther was a golden era of chi wave, chi burst, and zen pulse wayyyyy back when they were put in and cost chi around the MOP time.
I recall the chi wave bounces did at least a healâs cast worth of healing A BOUNCE and 1/2 that at least to an enemy.
Chi Burst was 1-2 heals worth of cast to everything in itâs path.
And Zen Pulse was about 1-2 heals of a cast over 16 sec and then every time it burst or was refreshed it was another 1-2 Heals worth of cast to target and 1/2 damage to those around it.
Now, as you mentioned, they are not worth the cast to use for damage or healing because the same GCD used on that seems better spent on other core skills.

Thereâs a time to cast them. We do have down time in our rotation.

Chi wave I donât mind as it serves its purpose as a filler spell to keep our mastery rolling, chi burst just feels like a casted tiger palm, itâs terrible but more damage on 2+ targets.

Except it doesnât serve its purpose, itâs dmg and healing use to be significant
We want windwalkers to be able to focus on ST
So we reduced the damage of RSK
Big brained thinking there.

As of now, chi waveâs only purpose is to help combo strikes. Itâs really just a lily pad for other talents right now. Lazy.

Yeah itâs pretty weak sauce at least you can pick the one you think looks the coolest. Which is chi burst.
I try to get chi burst healed twice with transcendence for style points. Never has it been necessary but itâs fun.
Awwwwww!
I miss fallen order so much. Nothing as fun as calling the homies for backup whilst throwing jodasos ayyyyyyy
Chi wave is good to avoid BoK spending and maintain combo breaker in a scenario where you can double tiger palm for teachings. The damage and healing is not the greatest but being âswing damageâ can help sustain for some more complicated fights.

(But seriously, the pro Rune stance makes me disgusted â itâs a neat concept but horribly not fun to actually play around, even when you play it successfully.)
