The best zones in game are

Everyone Woods is such a perfect combination of storytelling, music, art, and flavor that I have trouble thinking of a more impactful zone.

Granted some of its questing is out-of-date and clunky, but it was revolutionary when BC came out. I bought several tracks from that zone’s soundtrack it was so good.

Other honorable mentions are:

  • Vashjir: despite the underwater, I adore the zone. It is gorgeous. Helps that my first impression was on a Druid.
  • Outland Nagrand: peaceful, gorgeous, the pure beauty of open spaces.
  • Original Ashenvale: a pure, wild, ancient Night Elf forest with myriad hidden hollows. Fills me with nostalgia.
  • Feralas: the first place I ever saw Rain in WoW. It’s wild, remote beauty remains breathtaking.

Pandaria is also quite lovely.

I’ve always thought this zone has gotten a bad rap. I’ve always enjoyed the look and leveling there.
