The benefits of RDF FAR outweigh any potential social deficits

Let me think… choosing who you run a dungeon with in order to have a better outcome is against free choice… whereas introducing a system so convenient that would leave no room for options is not imposing. Gotcha.

I think you are mixing up the very fundamental idea of communism and capitalism.

Anti rdf is more akin to a capitalist idea. People work for the outcome they want.

Pro rdf is the communist ideal. Everyone gets the same outcome regardless of effort put in.

Thank you for your post. Good to see we all know who the corporate sell out really is right?

Unlikely…

You are entitled to your opinion, we disagree, but i respect your opinion.

But you have the free choice without rdf to build and choose who you party with instead of everyone getting a turn. The former is capitalism, the later is communism. You have your ideologies mixed up.

It always amazes me to see what mental gymnastics they will try to use to justify rdf. Lol.

I agree. Either theyre intentually lying or they’re that screwed up on what is what. I’m glad I’m not the only one that can sniff out their bs.

I dont think stealing is morally wrong in certain situations.

Crazy statement right! Just like i dont think its morally wrong for somebody to be playing a private server and blizzard doesnt care much either. If they did they would be cracking down on them but blizzard knows the only people that play on private servers are people that wouldnt pay or cant pay for wow anyway.

I dont know why you are treating morality as absolute.

Maybe the word is not “morally wrong” but it could be considered “morally justified”. Like a poor hungry kid stealing some bread, i see that as being morally justified.

Sadly i think this is the case for a lot of them as higher education these days is more akin to indoctrination than actual learning in many cases.

I grew up on the story of Robin Hood. To steal from the rich and give to the poor. I fundamentally disagree thst everyone that plays on orivaye servers is poor, but in reality some people love to pay for an unfair advantage like donating to get the very best gear or tons of gold or a cool transmog/mount. Others just have beef with Blizzard but still love Warcraft.

I mean isnt retail wow pay to win enough? you can literally buy gold to buy carries\achievements\mounts.

Everybody that i know that has played on private servers is either because WOTLK wasnt available or they couldnt afford wow sub

Lots of criminal behavior is ignored because the government doesn’t have the resources to punish all crime. Just because most people who speed don’t get caught doesn’t mean the government doesn’t care about people breaking the speed limit. I’m sure blizzard cares about private servers theft of their intellectual property and they do shut them down when they get too large and even have sued and won damages from some of the largest servers. But the cost in lawyer’s fees and court costs to shut them all down would be prohibitive.

Yeah, Jean Valjean wasn’t morally wrong for stealing bread to feed his starving sister. But playing on a private server doesn’t meet that standard in my mind.

There are always the cows or whales. Which ever one you wanna call them. Sure you can do xyz in retail but long before classic private servers were and still are hosting van, tbc, and wotlk (not many cata/mop servers) but they have their own whales that feed the donations. Someone has to pay to keep the electricity on.

We don’t all share the same moral compass. Some see it as Blizzard ignoring the fanbase that wanted to keep playing older expansions. Others see it as Blizzards shady business deals and decisions, along with their own lawsuits against them. It doesn’t take much to justify taking matters into ones hands. Sure it isn’t stealing bread to eat, but when one sees a corporation doing bad things, it neans they themselves can also feel justified to do bad things. So this is where we are. Its not rather private servers are legal or not, as Blizzard has all the money they’ll always be illegal but legal doesn’t matter to morallity when one can see Blizzard as evil and corrupt.

No, it’s not where we all are. That’s where you are, many of us are not there. I’m just telling you what I think of your moral compass. Anyone who claims as you have that “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught” is ipso facto lacking in any moral compass I can relate to.

It doesn’t take much for you to justify stealing or how ever you decide to take matters into your own hands. Just understand for many of us it takes a lot more to justify it.

There are copywrite laws that protect the owners from theft of their intellectual property. Whether rich or poor. It has nothing to do with blizzard’s money and everything to do with the law

I didn’t ask you what you think of my personal moral compass and quite frankly i could careless what a radical, individual such as your self thinks of me. However i was trying to be nice and explain things to you from a different perspective. As its been pointed out before to you and I’ll say it again, if it wasn’t for a certain vanilla private server we wouldn’t be playing here on Blizzards official progressive server. So i believe the words you’re looking for are, “you’re welcome.”

I never asked what you think about anything. You post to me without me caring about what you think, I post to you knowing you don’t care what I think. What’s your point?

And I’ve explained them from my different perspective. What else do you think happens here?

I know it’s asking to much, but perhaps you’d gain some enlightenment, but i doubt it. Great things happen because some people venture out and brave to do their own thing. I mean we’re in America. We literally told the British to f off and dumped their over taxed tea into our harbor. Playing on a orivate server isn’t to far out there if one is capable of painting Blizzard as the bad guys, (they aren’t) its just a complicated relationship as they’re bound to piss some people off. Like all those people in China recently. I’m sure they’ll move over to private servers to get their wow fix.

Wow, like you have some unique views that I’ve never heard before. Like when you told me truckers have a saying, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught” like I’ve never heard it before. Like it’s some special trucker phrase. I’ve read enough of your posts to know everything you say will be something I’ve heard a hundred times before. You’re trivial and not well educated.

Yeah you’re a real hero because you steal intellectual property for your own personal enjoyment. You realize they didn’t steal that tea for their own personal use. They threw it into the sea to make a political point. I was a professional musician until I was 25. I know what it means to create content. If you were a creator of intellectual property you might have a different view about stealing other’s work. But you’ve never created anything in your life have you?
