I approve this as long as it’s for the Alliance. I don’t want these guys for the Horde in any shape, way or manner.

Jinyu and Ankoan would fit better with the Alliance, considering both have helped them against the Horde in some fashion, so I wouldn’t worry about them being put on the Horde.

It’s been awhile since 8.2 stuff has been on the PTR. Has there been much info regarding the Ankoan in general? Theres been some Gilblin stuff, albeit not a huge amount, so I figured there might be Ankoan stuff somewhere regarding their lore and what they’re doing in the 8.2 storyline.

Last I heard, there are not any female models. It could always change in the future, though. Wouldn’t hurt to get exalted with them, just in case they might become playable in the future.

Female Voice lines have been discovered. Some speculate if female models may show up when PTR hits the alpha or this could be an androgynous race of some kind. I personally would prefer if they add a least a bit of variation to it.

Females should just have more feminine lines and colors, but no fish boobs.

Rise of Azshara is coming June 25th:

This means that we’ll finally see the Ankoan appear on the Alliance side. Should open up some interesting discussions on here as we report our findings. ^^

I don’t understand why this thread hasn’t been seeing as much activity lately. Perhaps after a while with Nazjatar coming out, it will see more. Just bumping it for further discussion.

8.2.0 and 8.2.5 is going to be exciting just to see these guys get development!

Eh. Tbh it is kind of a nice fresh break anyway. Debating over what will and will not be an AR can get frustrating at times.

Not all allied races are popular on the same scale as others! Some are more awaited! Others are inevitable, no matter if there is a great passion for them or not!

Maybe there are more people talking about them after vulperas are confirmed as the new race.
Then the searches for new candidates will begin!

Popularity also isn’t a factor when it comes to what would become an allied race at least in terms of the race itself. If it was then Dwarfs wouldn’t have even gotten an AR as well as high elves made playable long ago.

I didn’t even know what people meant when they said Ankoan, now that I’ve quested in Nazjatar count me in for some hype and hope. They look really cool and vibrant, truly unique for an Alliance race.

After seeing Ankoan in game models yesterday
no way. They look horrid, like a kid made them or something from a 60’s “B” horror movie. No way I would want them playable.

I like how they tie into the Lovecraft stuff as they kinda resemble Deep Ones.
