As were Hozen and Jinyu.
Honestly, I just donāt want a repeat of Void Elves - the core idea of what people wanted, but with an unasked for twist that simultaneously voids that desire and makes a true fulfillment unlikely.

Itās not a smart idea.
Look at FF Online, they announced two races that were gender locked and fans went ballistic.
People want to have choices.
Depends on the franchise/situation. One of the most popular races in one of the most beloved science fiction franchises (the Asari in Mass Effect) is depicted as having only one gender.
More accurately, sexless. Thereās a difference between that and acknowledging a second sex which is unplayable.
And before the hozen and jinyu, there were the ice dwarves and snow Tauren from Northrend that joined the factions. Horde quests in dragonblight even had you make them give an oath and recruit the chieftain.
Well the kimahri people have female models and vice versa with the viera they have male models too.
Its a bit silly to make one gender playable.
I am up for races with 1 gender or not too much dimorphism though but in ff14s case its sort of weird they dont want male bunny people. Or Female dog people
I hope these come about. Anything that broadens player options is a good thing in my book.
I donāt see why they couldnāt just make a fish-person that looks a little more feminine. They have done it for other animal races like Tauren and Pandaren.
Those are mammalian. They have mammary glands. Fish/reptiles are not. Thus they donāt. That is the core argument. I have to agree but I would like the feminine slenderness to stick around.
They did also do this with Gilgoblins as most are probably aware now which if I am not mistaken are amphibious.
Well there is more to it than just boobs. The faces look more feminine too.
I think a good way to make a model look more feminine is to give it big flowy pretty fins. I realize theyād clip insanely and probably be too challenging to animate, but having some of those come off the arms would probably be great. Think of Ruto from the Legend of Zelda series

I found a short clip from Ocarina of Time showing how the arm-fins animate on her model just standing still. This shows that it can be done convincingly with minimal work, since it was done on a low-poly model for a game made in 98ā.

Go to 0:43 to skip ahead to the part where they show this.
This is also what I was hoping would happen for Gilgoblins.
One thing I should mention though. There was some backlash about Rutoās model looking to mammalian. Many said that they didnāt need to give her such a humanoid figure down to breasts and other stuff like that.
EDIT: Asotcha. Second link isnāt working.
Thats pretty valid, but even if they donāt accentuate her chest they can probably still make a difference this way
I saw that female Gilgoblin model, I love the bioluminescence!
edit: Are you sure? I was able to do it again just nowā

Make sure you get that last little o in the address before i wrote āpasteā
I mean they could. I just donāt think itās needed for every race to be sexually dimorphic. I mean I could see a female version with say a tauren female model for example. in some cases with fish the females are bigger for example. If the models are there sure use them.
I think though due to some scifi, fantasy and observed sexes/genders in nature that a race with less/no sexual diversities would be a nice and healthy introduction into what life is like instead of inserting our hom0-hom0 sapien views on them all.
For the sake of not being lazy and content, I think it would be a good idea to make each model gender at least a bit distinct. Female Jinyu I donāt think should be gone so far as to be given breasts, but those fins Asotcha suggested I think would be a good idea.
I mean you can give a fish some chest plumpage and call it female. Or you can go the interesting fish alien route and make them bigger /stronger maybe add some tentacles (sort of like that female monster in that netflix robot/love anthology xD)

I wouldnāt mind if the female model was just a touch more slender and subtle than the males, similar to how Sethraliss looks different from the other, exclusively male modeled sethrak.
no, not every faction has to come from the zone. Horde had rep with Argussian and Armies of Light. Alliance had rep with Nightborne and Highmountain
it is more likely that the rep gains from mechagon will go to alliance getting cyborgs, and the rep from azshara going to horde getting gilfins.
The final allied race combo is likely to be released in 8.3 where two new factions will be farmable for horde and alliance, and from there the last of the pre expansion allied races will be known.
I think for practical reasons rustbolt gnomes are neutral. If these things are meant to be playable, there will probably be a reason given as to why they join the alliance. I just canāt really see the horde having these guys in their ranks for so many reasons.
