The animations / vibes for magic in WoW are boring

if you dont like the game and can’t find anything good about it then quit playing and leave.

Every other MMO is worse, and non-MMOs don’t last me long enough.

Like, if I’m not playing WoW, I’m playing League. And I despise League and everyone who made it, it makes me irrationally angry, but it’s the only other game that doesn’t put me to sleep after a week.

Single player games just don’t have content longevity – even games like Cyberpunk last me 3-4 days at best.

It would definitely be cool if casting animations were designed to incorporate your weapon.

However, there’s no issue as it is. Game looks great right now.

The problem with that is that you’d have to lock each caster to a specific weapon type, or you’d have to change the animation for every kind of weapon they can equip.

I don’t think people would want the first, and the second is too much for a modern studio.

Though it’d be cool.

Visual FX can be increased in settings I think is still possible. But should only be visible to you and not other players so you do not lag them out.

Agreed. I really don’t have any complaints with animations as they are.

At least Ashes isn’t selling mounts for $50k like another game.

They aren’t , are they? I haven’t looked at their side in ages.

I just think we need more variety in cast animations. In my perfect world, each ability would have its own animation, for both melee and magic.

Don’t think so, but both games are vaporware and should be sued.

You obviously hate everything about WoW.

Just move on to something else.

If any MMO comes out that has real raiding and something like M+, happily.

Like I quit for New World for months, but the game died out several times and is likely done.

I quit for Maplestory 2 for a while.

GW2, FFXIV, RIFT, Wildstar, etc.

They all get boring or die off.

Maybe try something that isn’t an MMO, like GTA Online on a solo session.

But you complain about your inability to do m+ or raid. And how boring and easy all of m+ and raiding is.

Herne is not only beating them up, he’s giving them expert excerpts from the Art of War while doing it

I’ve played a lot of games bro. Most don’t stick, and the ones that do only last 300 hours max.

“If I agree that Meteor is just a Fireball aimed downwards I will be embarrassed and look silly”

Someone actually said that in here lmao. I think they might be blind imo.

Also Mindblast really does basically have no animation? They weren’t lying or anything with this statement and it isn’t unreasonable to agree with it whatsoever.

Agreeing with me would signal the apocalypse. They’re just looking out for us all.

Casters in general can use staves, 1h weapons, daggers and wands along with the off-hand dongles.
Outliers are Druids, Paladins and Shamans because they can use 2h weapons, fist weapons, shields.
So that’s like 4-5 sets per “casting stance” (yknow how the mages, warlocks etc have different idle casting stance where they hold their hands slightly differently), with some overlap between the sets and which you can categorise by the type of spell (projectile, no-travel, aoe etc). In some cases you don’t really have to do any of that, Paladins for example get unique heal casting animations which are perfect for them.

It’s not exactly too much work for a modern studio, they could have proof of concept in like below a week at the cost of two intern’s labor. But the management will not even consider it due to low perceived ROI as it’s more of a long term investment - it adds perceived quality to the game instead of instantly cashing out through mount sales or a subscription spike.

And therein lies the problem.

I’d be happy with just having my weapon actually be involved in the animation instead of just being a glorified accessory.
