I think with the sheer amount of people and how few servers there are we will need sharding. That said they should really work on managing servers rather then go for the cheap route.

It was actually confirmed total BS. The friggin’ demo had 20 servers.

on the most recent pserver there was ~10k people on opening day and even with dynamic mob spawns questing was crazy day 1.
If wow populations are limited to ~2500 I see absolutely no reason to ever use anything other than default classic server spawns, no sharding, no dynamic spawns, no decreased spawn timers. That will be in line with original vanilla.
If wow populations are 10k like Northdale well then that will be a massive problem.
I don’t want to beat the dead horse any further but there has to be a middle ground.
Personally I like the large servers with dynamic spawns but caves become death zones with no way to progress through them without mobs spawning on top of you.
I don’t like sharding, i’ve never liked sharding and even the phasing introduced in Wrath was broken.
Either way if you really want to enjoy launch then plan on trying to get ahead of the curve ASAP. I was probably in the first 200 people to hit lvl 20 on Northdale and it became a lot easier at that point.
There was 20 just for the demo
If classic Beta has the same stuff as the demo, it is time to worry even more
