I’m betting they let the realm crash, but that’s not even the worst they could do.
Worst case scenario is that they let the realm crash and don’t bring it back up till the next tuesday. Best case scenario is that they redo* cloud services to handle this somehow, and copy the tech back over to BFA as well.
My bet is that it’s closer to worst case.
*tried to say re-ji(G times two)er instead of redo but the forums got mad about it. anyone know why?
This is rich, coming from someone who wont have to pay anything above what they already do to play classic on day one, but people returning just to play classic will be paying $15 a month to access it. With your zyrius-esque logic, playing bfa is p2w for classic launch.
Not in classic itself. It would trivialize various aspects of vanilla.
Nothing prevents anyone from logging into retail and making a character, farming and selling low level mats and paying for wow that way.
So because you have disposable income it’s ok to get an early start. Other folks may not be able to afford that, they may be on a tight budget, perhaps they have limited income or many other reasons.
No, it’s PTW.
So just because you can afford a monthly sub, you can play the game? Other folks may not be able to afford that, they may be on a tight budget, perhaps they have limited income or many other reasons. No, a sub is clearly p2w.
Aye, and there shouldn’t be sharding in Classic.
I have to wonder if their new “cloud” servers can’t handle the load. If this is the real reason then we may be looking at the sharding creeping into other areas. =(
If everybody waits 3-4 weeks, they themselves will then be crowding the zones in 3-4 weeks.
What’s next, we draw straws and let people into Classic in waves? Just so some nervous nellies who take video games too seriously don’t have to deal with a bit of sharding?
