"The Alliance only gets focus because it makes sense for the story being told."

Valeera is quite a funny character to me, because in a game where visual cues is a good hallmark as to where your loyalties lie, with Valeera herself looking like the blood elfiest blood elf to ever blood elf, she’s loyal not to the Horde or Silvermoon… but to the Alliance-uhm I mean House Wrynn, because that’s totally a good distinction.

Imagine if, during WoD, instead of there being Draenei and an Alliance Garrison, you had to quest exclusively with the orcs and Horde on Draenor.

Imagine if, during BFA, instead of having Kul Tiras as an Alliance mirror to Zandalar, you were exclusively questing through Troll content following around Sylvanas, Nathanos, Rokhan, and Baine.

Sylvanas being ruined, villain-batted, and turned into a raid boss? Y’know, the exact thing Horde players have been begging them to stop doing, but they can’t seem to stop themselves. I don’t know if it’s out of spite or some pathological contagion within cdev, but it has cratered what was at one point the more interesting faction.

Maybe 11.1 and onward will be a change in direction (and I hope it is) that allows both factions to feel like they have stakes in the game’s storyline.

Getting Gazlowe as a delve partner would’ve been neat. :dracthyr_nod:
Ideally they could’ve had all the same abilities to some extent or another as Brann.

:face_exhaling: Anyway yeah, it seems like the Horde is well & truly – DEAD.
They’re simply a sad small wannabe faction of losers & incompetent side-characters now.

The Alliance didn’t just win the 4th war.
They finally succeeded … In dismantling the Horde – Into but a shadow of their former glory.

The Horde is no more.

And that’s canon whether people want to believe it or not.
— All they need do, is look at the narrative.

I think your issue is time. You are apply a standard of how much details they should have right now instead of what they had a year ago. If they were still talking about not being sure how 11.1 Delves would work your being critical of the plan would be fair. The change of plans happened quite a while ago.

There are quite a few members of the Reliquary. I would bet on it being one of them.

1 to 1 counterpart? Not really. But I don’t really think anyone wants every NPC to have a 1 to 1 counterpart. Closest in role would probably be Tae’thelan Bloodwatcher.

You don’t have to try and imagine a patch being put in just for Horde content with the Alliance being sent to hang out with, follow and run errands for Horde characters. It has happened.

And that is what frustrates me when you have people like you come on and pretend it is something unique to the Horde experience.

You don’t like it, I get that. Alliance players didn’t like it when it happened to us. Give that feedback, that is fine. But stop playing the victim and pretending it is only Horde that have gotten that treatment.

Maybe?! We already know it is a Horde patch. And it isn’t even a surprise because Blizzard had already told us that would be happening, at the release of the expac. This is not a change in direction. It is what was always happening.

You’ll get your Saurfang cinematic some day, Smallioz, I’m sure of it.

Now it all makes sense.

That is only one of the multiple times Horde had content added just for them and the Alliance was just along for the ride.

And it isn’t going to happen anyway. Alliance players have known for years that we wont get added content to balance Horde content. We were directly told that back all the way back in MoP. They told us again in BfA that they would not be balancing out the Cinematic time or the extra questing. This is not something that is new to us.

Please don’t look at the entire Alliance quest chain and Jaina scenes!!
Please plug your ear when Jaina’s song comes on, cause it doesn’t exist if you say it loud enough!!

I’ve exhausted this dialogue tree many many times.

When the Horde has received more content it cannibalizes itself. If you want to spend a few expansions “in the spotlight” murdering your own leaders and exiling them until you’re left with a skeleton crew of nobodies that get no development, I hope you get that, cinematics and all.

When the Horde received more content it was content you do not like. Fine. Got it.

Guess what that means though. Horde still got the extra content. You don’t have to like it. But it is still more content. So, to try and claim the Horde got less content is just blatantly false.

If you don’t like the content, that is fine. Say that. Stop claiming Horde are just excluded, because that is not true.

First:
The Alliance is never going to get content added to balance the extra the Horde got. Blizzard has told us that repeatedly. Alliance players have had to make peace with that.

Second:
Based on your previous comments, I do not believe you. Let’s say next expac the Alliance got an extra quest chain and a series of fully rendered cinematics setting up a heroic death for a major Alliance character and ending with that death. Do you really expect me to believe you and others like you would not be on the forums screaming how unfair it was the Alliance was getting extra content? Because we saw what happened when the Alliance got a single patch.

Even if every single Alliance player on this forum was complaining about how terrible the story was, I just can’t picture you and other like you not coming here and saying ‘stop complaining, at least you are getting content’ and telling everyone how the Horde had it worse. You can’t seem to acknowledge any Alliance complaints as valid now, why should we believe you would in the future?

You’re genuinely a bad person.

oh damn you didn’t get four cinematics tearing you down as a faction boo hoo

Its not about quantity its about quality, they spend the entirety of bfa and shlands ripping the horde down, and tearing it apart, and still to this date haven’t bothered to put back together. They haven’t been bothered to build up any of the replacements until potentially now. The alliance doesn’t need fixing the horde desperately does

I mean, the Alliance could definitely use some tweaking, but it’s got a more solid base to tweak from.

Was kinda hoping for Nadia Rivergleam to be the Season 2 delve partner tbh.

Nah, Horde and Alliance both had comparable focus for the vast majority of the game. The difference is one receiving focus paints them as villains, and the other receiving focus paints them as heroes. That dynamic (the pendulum swing of Horde/Alliance) has pretty much evaporated after BFA, though, which is where the resentment is coming from.

So, no, you’re wrong. It isn’t just me not liking the content, it is me not liking some of the older content and being miffed that The Horde has only existed as an afterthought for three expansions. You gesturing at content from 6+ years ago that Horde players resented as some sort of justification for devastating our roster and being utterly irrelevant to the story beyond sidekick cameos is not going to change how dogturd of a situation that is for Horde players.

“The Alliance is never going to get content added” except for all that Alliance facing content that got added. Don’t look at Amirdrassil, guys. Ignore that the main cast is still Alliance heroes. Avert your gaze from protodwarves. It’s definitely not been close to a decade since Vol’jin died with no closure.

And the thing is, you’re right about one thing—I don’t want the Alliance players to have to suffer through the garbage The Horde did. I don’t want all of their characters to be killed off and for the faction to become a pale shade of itself. I was pretty vocal about how awful Night Elves got it in BFA, and I had been pretty vocal about how stupid it was that Gilneas was still a big ??? over a decade later. Faction parity writing results in stagnant and nonsensical story outcomes, so I don’t care. Continue trying to tell me that water isn’t wet, and I’ll continue telling you to stop crying over a bowl of diarrhea, I guess.

To be fair, I don’t know that it is actually Smallioz, but the argumentation is 100% the same.

nah.
i forgot smallioz existed, so i didn’t put two and two together.
but now that you’ve pointed it out, it’s beyond obvious.

I think part of the reason I don’t get bothered by perceived faction bia’s is because I like to see stories on races instead of factions.

DF - Dracthyr spotlight with a major Night Elf patch and a small amount of Tauren and Worgen.

TWW - Dwarf (all 3 playable flavors) spotlight with a major patch focused on Goblins.

Midnight - Most likely very Blood Elf and Void Elf centric.

I like seeing all the playable races get the spotlight. Pidgeon holing everything to Red Team or Blue team ends up with everything being Humans and Orcs again.
