The addon purge was disastrous. Can we go back to the way it was?

Like, having actual working damage meters, being able to see what CD’s your party members have, being able to analyze your deaths to see what actually killed you?

Everything about the addon purge made it worse and Blizzard is so far behind on getting caught up on things that we just get piecemeal changes every major patch.

They can’t even argue that whole “we want players to make their own decisions” crap when they literally introduced single-button rotations to the game.

Very true. I got rid of all of my weakauras and started using OBR and it feels like I’m truly playing the game for the first time.

^Sadly this.

People with a functional brain would see the irony… but sadly people that use OBR use that one braincell to press that one button

Have you not been playing in the past 8 months or something? It’s almost back to where it was pre-addonpocalypse.

Blizzard needs to revert ALL the api changes from midnight and let us have weakauras back.

This is exactly what I thought.

I can’t think of a single decision made in the past 1-2 years by Blizzard that have been of any benefit for me, a multi-class healer. If there has been ANYTHING that was good for healers, please, refresh my memory!

The new revamped API is so much better for addons, because it cut down on memory usage a LOT!

A crappy damage meter does suck, though.

Everything else is pretty much back to the way it was. WAs can even exist again— but the authors don’t want to start it up again and small addons can fill that gap.

Been nice not having some blow hard posting his meter all over chat during an dungeon

Dungeon design has improved to the point where people take unavoidable damage instead of relying on things going wrong.

I’d say TWW / Midnight have more of this design compared to previous dungeons. Dragonflight had stretches of nothing happening.

Shadowlands was the absolute worst.

Oh, defensive pruning for everyone is also a benefit for healers. And that’s Midnight.

Gimme a break. That literally happened.

It isn’t for Arenas, where you have no idea what defensive cooldowns your team still has available. Or what the enemy team has.

Same for kick timers in PvE, which means that people often overlap kicks and screw things up for M+

Don’t y’all assign markers for who kicks which mob and an order for who interrupts if it’s just one mob?

Are these OBR users who are anti-addon in the room with us right now? Any other observations you want to make about the playerbase, based on your in-depth, one-on-one interviews?

yes. some dont know how to take a joke

I actually haven’t noticed it. I used to think I needed boss mods and metres, but to be honest I like the lack of screen clutter now.

No.

It won’t kill you to have to play the same game as the rest of us.

We’re not playing the same game even post addon purge.

I’m a heavy addon user and I have almost all the functionality that I used to have. I made homebrew cooldown trackers before the purge, but that functionality is much harder to code now, so I use ArcUI.
