I agree with that you’re saying here. Communities form around different types of content naturally, since players who likes certain things tend to agree with each other.

I was attempting to categorize people based on the types of interactions they have with people in the game. In-Group members interact with a small group of the same people, where Out-Group members interact with a large group of different people.

Whereas solo players don’t interact with anyone.

They’ve got a big incentive to doing so, too. Since players who have friends in the game are more likely to stick around.

But inviting solo players to participate in group content by incentivising them (weekly events, LFR, unique rewards, etc), usually causes the other two groups to collectively rage. If you don’t know what I mean here, check out the PvP forums on battleground event weeks.
