How many expansions will the 2019 re-release of Classic WoW go through until they call it quits and discontinue. I am confident MoP will come out again as it has already been hinted at and polled, and maybe beyond, but I guess will cross that bridge when we get there, let me know your thoughts, thanks for reading and have a great day.
Shadow lands classic
From a personal green PoV I hope to atleast BfA as I didn’t get to try the content live.
Honestly I see it going as long as it generates more money than it costs to keep it going. It’s kinda easy for them because they already know what content they are going to put out. It’s just adjustments along the way to make it enjoyable for all. People had predicted it would crash after WoTLK but even on the smaller OCE servers I see active FL recruitment everyday.
My anniversary server priest is 100% going along the whole journey this time and I’m excited to see how her adventures will go through the expansions of old wow.
Legion was by far the best time I ever had in WoW…so if they go to Legion…I am probably in.
It was approximately 1337x better than current retail is.
I hope it pans out for you, but what made Legion great for me was a great expansion and a great group of friends (plus an active guild) and that second component is gone as those folks have moved on to other games. The friends I have now are great, but they are not “all in” on trying to relive Legion (or any Classic variant).
I’m a firm believer that you cannot relive the past without a working time-machine, so Classic anything has never had an appeal for me, but for those that love it, I’m glad they have access to it. To reiterate, hope it pans out for you.
Thanks. My Legion crew came back just for this expansion because we wanted to play a game together and spent several years immersed in Valheim.
TWW is certainly no Legion, but we’ve found ways to have fun.
Thanks, and happy new year!
Honestly it really should have stopped at Wrath.
I just don’t understand the point of Cataclysm classic at all.
I am biased though because I legitimately think Cataclysm was the worst xpac in the history of the game.
Cata, MoP and WoD was a dark time for WoW in general and it won’t be until Legion classic that it finally gets better.
I hope that they really do go that far!
Mainly because I want everyone to be reminded of how horrible the first 2/3rds of legion actually were.
Its time to break those rose tinted glasses
Have you been living under a rock? They literally announced this last month at the anniversary event lol
In any case, I personally thought they should have quit at WotLK. It was the last true “classic” expansion before the revamp with Cataclysm came. It genuinely makes no sense to me that we’re moving anywhere beyond that. It’s not even Classic anymore, just discounted retail lol
I remember it well, and I loved the expansion right from the start, all the way through, with all the legendary whining and drama included.
It really is about having a group of people to play with that you like. Socializing and doing things together really does smooth out all the rough edges.
I loved the zones and loved the artifact weapons and the class halls, and the mage tower, etc…loved it all.
You not liking Legion doesn’t mean other people didn’t like it, lol. No offense, but that is a bit of a self-centered way to see the world.
Legion was the first good xpac since WotLK so even if it isn’t TERRIBLY great I completely understand why people loved Legion so much.
It so horrible, that it was literally the 1st time I unsubbed solely based on gameplay.
And hey, my post was in support of them going that far. I look forward to all the RNG legendary and endless grind complaints again. It will be glorious!
It’s my first time actually getting to play Cataclysm so I appreciate its existence.
(I have done nothing but play Combat Rogue.)
I do still think they should’ve made permanent servers for Wrath (& TBC) though.
I would think only the people who liked Legion would opt in to play it again?
Although, based on the forums, a lot of people do seem to be sadists, absolutely seeming to hate the game, but continuing to pay Blizz for the privilege of complaining on the forums.
Either way, time will tell! Happy new year!
MoP was fine, but part of me thinks they’ve only continued to release new expansions for classic servers because they want a redo at WoD. I don’t know how you re-release that expansion with the full expectation that people will stick to it without having to implement some major overhauls. If they don’t, it will undoubtedly be the shortest Classic expansion released.
Taking another crack at WoD and finishing it would warrant WoD classic’s existence.
WoD itself wasnt that bad other than the lack of content. So if they actually did that it would probably be pretty well recieved
I HIGHLY doubt they would add anything new
WoD was GARBAGE are you kidding?
Like yeah let’s just isolate our entire playerbase into garrisons so they never interact with each other ever. LMAO.
Dungeons were fun. Raids were fun. Getting followers and mission tables were fun.
The only thing not fun was running out of things to do due to the lack of content. And really, the game didn’t feel any emptier than it does now.
The lack of content is literally what makes WoD that bad. (Well, that and the Garrisons were pretty lame and server stability on launch was abysmal.)
So many things were cut or unfinished.
And I’m saying this as someone who will absolutely play WoD Classic just because of Gladiator Stance.
You got me there, Warlords was the last time I actively raided beyond farming LFR for transmog.
