Yeah, you’ll get your yearly potato (maybe) and you’ll like it or else!
making a raid with some extremely hard bosses in tindral and fyrakk, then giving us less time to get ce than in previous seasons, is really not cool. if s4 is a few weeks away then we can probably expect around half as many guilds getting ce as in previous tiers, which feels kind of awful for those of us trying to get into ce raiding who are now going to have to wait for the war within to even have a realistic chance at it.
because they DONT CARE.
It doesn’t affect you, congratulation.
Now that doesn’t change the fact that such events are designed to trigger fomo in as many people as possible, you do realize that right? its the basic concept in all gacha games even.
Super happy you are immune to it, doesn’t mean everyone else is.
gacha games have reruns of characters
so how are they fomo?
SO IT IS A PLAYER PROBLEM
Thank you for the in depth update and all of your hard work blizzard.
No not really? The feeling of FOMO(Fear of missing out) is a personal feeling. i dont feel any FOMO at all, because i know im going to miss stuff and have missed stuff in the past and thats fine for me.
FOMO is literally the “Fear Of Missing Out”. When you pay for attempts at getting something tangible to you, and there is a limited duration, either:
- you don’t care at all
- you are interested in the possibility of getting the reward, but are okay with not getting it
- you really want it.
Sure, there are folks that fall into buckets 1 and 2, but we ALL know that video games push HARD to create bucket 3. Because that’s where the money is. Companies have literally been sued and forced to change their policies (see loot boxes) around this notion.
So to just dismiss it as a personal problem is to dismiss all sorts of issues with addiction and influence as “people problems” which societally we’ve historically not done.
TL;DR: you are wrong, sorry.
Good for you. Nobody asked.
It’s definitely a crossover event. Time limited due to that.
Yay more FOMO content. When is Blizzard going to move away from outdated game design? You say you want to make evergreen content yet keep failing the basics of it over and over again. It’s pathetic.
either do the event or dont. stop dragging fun events like this through the mud because of your psychological problems!
I really love the “um achktuallys” from people that are apparently oblivious to the concept of psychology in advertisement and why the term FOMO was coined in the first place.
Hint: Consumers didn’t come up with it.
easiest trolling report of my life
Isn’t a big part of FOMO the fear of falling behind? You miss a week then you’ll be a week behind everyone that didn’t miss the week?
Not sure FOMO fits well here.
because of a player problem.
blizz has nothing to do with players mental states
No, only in situations where it applies, which it wouldn’t here.
That response addresses nothing of what I said.
GOOD FOR YOU.
The fact you seem to understand FOMO is a feeling that other people get should tell you that YES, it is indeed FOMO.
You ran right into the point and still missed it.
For it to be FOMO, it has to be limited time to acquire something powerful or irreplaceable, and generally has a cash requirement.
Calling whatever this will be FOMO is irrational, because you aren’t going to miss anything that matters.
