I’m fine with the idea of content being kept a surprise, but letting the anticipation build for something that isn’t going to stick around is more than a little ridiculous.
Especially when the devs have talked about how much they dislike FOMO and how much they want more evergreen content pretty frequently in recent years.

I have learned not to be surprised with the garbage Blizzard puts out, but this…this surprised me. I don’t know how they thought it was a good idea to announce this FOMO trash after the disaster that was the Diablo and Hearthstone events. This is a new low in my eyes for Blizzard and I’m genuinely disappointed. I…I just…I don’t understand how the developers continue to be this tone deaf…I’m starting to hope Microsoft lays off a larger amount of the Blizzard team so that maybe some real changes can happen because I’m over this “we’re listening to your feedback” from both Ion and now Holly and then them just circumventing ALL THE FEEDBACK saying that FOMO is trash. Nobody is asking for this, not a single person.
