Warlock. Because at the end of the day I’m just evil.
Priest - Shadow - because I found a guide on it and it leveled really well and was fun. It was the only class in Vanilla that I ever stuck out to 60. Unfortunately I did it later in the game and then The Burning Crusade came out not long after and ruined the game for me and I quit.
I have a habit of deleting characters, so he’s long gone. I only have this character so that I can post on the forums! I deleted the rest when I quit this last time.
Rogue was actually the third class I tried. When I stealthed through the cave in the Valley of Trials and completed the 2 quests there in just a couple minutes I knew I would stick with it.
I like healing, chain heal for the win!
Warlock.
But you can’t… dwarfs can’t be mages in vanilla.
Yet…
I began Molten Core late in Vanilla and was fourth priest in line for the eye to drop from Domo for my Benediction. Only saw 3 drop before BC anticipation. When I hit 70 I intended to go back and farm MC but the drop was removed before I got around to it. I’m re-leveling the same character and this time I’ll get my bubble blower!
Paladin. Because paladin.
I picked Warrior because I liked the idea of just being a guy who got strong and is beating people up in a world full or magic and other craziness. It felt like the closest it would be like if someone from the real world had to fight their way through a world full of magic and other supernatural things.
Priest.

When I roll a healer, I want to heal. That’s one of the off-putting things about FFXIV that got to me, that people want healers to DPS too. If I wanted to DPS, I’d roll a DPS. Priest healing was cool because we got the Spirit buff as well.

Shadow has a nice dark, semi-gothic theme to it. Vanilla Vampiric Embrace was such an awesome utility in vanilla. And… vanilla Mind Flay was the best. Shadowy figure shooting a blue laser beam!

They were an extremely balanced class in vanilla, effective in any situation yet not OP or FOTM.
I will be playing a priest. I played a priest from vanilla until WoD and I LOVED it. Now that class no longer exists. Sure there are priests, but not the way I loved them. I Have tried many times since to go back and play again but I just cant. I am so excited to be getting my class back.
I like the utility and rp aspect of being able to do a bit of everything, and change into different forms depending on the situation. Playing alone I have several options to mix things up, and playing with friends I have a class that can complement any of their choices.
Ele Shaman, Lightning
I thought the loot council in my guild hated me until I discovered they put me second in line for the eye behind the GM, never heard benediction called a bubble blower before but it will certainly be what I call it from now on.
shrug I always pick warrior first in games. Big armor, big weapons, brute force.
Mage:
- make my own food/water
- teleport/portals = instant fast travel in a game with no flying mounts and no flight whistles
- tailoring for my armor and bags
- killing humanoids drops my profession materials, so I don’t need a gathering profession for my second proession
- best AOE in the game
- spell buff for my primary stat
- ice bock to save my butt
- polymorph for reliable CC
Easy choice for me.
Well, except for just about all spiders. And those rotting pigs in Razorfen Kraul. And crocs, and most hyenas. Actually, I can’t think of a single fluffy cute happy hunter’s pet
What spec you gonna be rolling around in buddy?
Because Shadow Priests are vampiric, blue lasers sparkle and real vampires sparkle. At least that’s what Edward said.
I’ll be playing every spec as a rogue… all I need to do is get HWL and I will have every weapon so I can play w/e spec I want. Until then I just need 2xDaggers and Dalrends set.
