Maybe, but it was a decision several expansions in the making. I doubt this change will be reverted any time soon.

I love the new arcane. Glad to be rid of that anchor Radiant Spark. Good riddance.

I feel changes like this are pushed out because of white board conversations versus devs who actually play the game sitting around discussing things. I honestly believe those who change and develop the game don’t even play it.

I stopped trying to track it and had more fun. Kind of played from the hip. I have no idea how much damage im loosing by playing this way, but its more fun so im doing it.

After playing around in m+ (12 brackenhide) the aoe portion wasnt that bad. I started clipping every AM just do get NP and it worked out pretty well.

Basically, you just send it and it works out.

I don’t understand the class, currently. It may make more sense once I start leveling and I have leveling gear. I mean stuff is dying but it is clunky, and most trash dies before my clearcasting even procs so I can use missiles. So, I use them on the next pack of mobs. I mostly do world content and low keys with this character.

Yeah, I found it a bit clunky on open world, though that’s basically the Mage’s Motto, Frost has always been the only comfortable questing spec to me, but Arcane is pretty fun in dungeons and raids, more specifically, the single target rotation is very fun to me, I did Amirdrassil and Vaults normal to try it out earlier today and it’s pretty good in raiding, consistently getting third or second DPS, mostly just losing to Warriors. With that said I am really not a fan of the AoE rotation, it just feels bad when you don’t proc an Arcane Orb and then you have to just sit there spamming Arcane Explosions, even worse when you simply don’t fish a CC proc while Orb is on CD, so you need to spam that slow AE animation 4 times… it’s painful.

I wish they could give us a better AoE filler spell already or make something that makes AB cleave or whatever, I never really enjoyed Arcane Explosion.

I actually agree with you. Arcane has always had a clunky aoe rotation. Tbh, I kind of hate that a mage spec slam it always has to be in melee range. I want to be a ranged class

Same its been awesome, i have never mained a ranged class. Tryed mage but never got into it. But now i am also having a blast with it, did a full 180 and will be maining my arcane mage. Love it!!!
