I’m sorry but that’s just stupid of you. We don’t wait 30 mins for a new tank, maybe 5-6 minutes at most.
Make a macro!
I’d just be happy if people even said hello, let alone “good run” before 2-3 people have already dropped. I literally can’t even quickly tap out “Take ca” before they’re gone. If the group was struggling that’s understandable but most of the time it’s fine people are just in a rush to forget you even participated.
What game are you playing? I’m not talking about LFR dungeons, when I’m not tanking I’ve seen people wait hours before
I tank on my Dh most the time and I get some pretty rude groups, this morning there was a dungeon I forgot some of the mechanics the group was really cool about it to remind me that is good.
The ones I hate are the toxic ones that will yell at you then storm out making your 11 keys down to a 10 and so on.
Raiding.

my point still stands, if you think tanks are anywhere near as replaceable as any other role and I don’t know what to tell you man.
In my opinion, the healers are the only ones worthy of praise. If the tank dies, it’s not really a problem if you have a good healer.
Tanks aren’t essential to the group like a healer is.
I usually am my tank, and I refuse to thank myself, because I hate that jerk.
I’ll thank them when I get thanked for being at or near the top of the DPS chart.
People actually timed 15s key without a healer. What on earth make you think healer is the most important?
Thanks tanks when you stick around after the other tank leaves in LFR. No thanks if you decide to dip as well.
Yes, i agree. A lot of people who like to tank get pushed/fussed at because they didn’t get a boss fight mechanic right or are bad at getting good agrro and then they get kicked. This in my opinion is not fair or right. Practice makes perfect and if you are getting kicked because of a simple mistake - like i have a lot - that discourages new tanks and they wont want to tank. I have seen many times when tanks would get kicked because they didn’t know boss fights. Generally it’s supposed to be the instance leader who is supposed to know these things but a lot of these tanks who are kicked are not. I think it’s a unfair experience for new and future tanks. A little patients and thank you will be helpful.
I don’t care about Mythic+ or keys or whatever. I’ve seen many an overconfident tank take on too much and get killed, then a healer hold the rest of the group together while the dps mops up.
As a retired main spec tank I wanted to go go go lol. Don’t really need to be thanked, as long as people do what they queued for im a happy camper.
You don’t care about raid or M+ I assume? Now come to question, can you actually do a keys without a tank? No, you can never do that. But can you do the same without a healer? Yes, I’ve seen alot. Whatever kind of content you’re talking about, I’m sorry to say, they’re not the best way to judge the importance of tank or healer.
To be equally fair, most dungeons don’t need a proper tank, I’ve completed many of them with just 3 dps and a healer because of uppity tanks like yourself. Y’all really ain’t that deep.
Thank you!
If you’re going to thank anyone, thank everyone. Tanks don’t deserve extra praise.
That said, not being a butt to the tank (or anyone else) SHOULD be common practice, but it’s not.
I get where his mentality comes from. I frequently have to just deal with a group that is pulling for me constantly despite me asking them nicely to allow me to pull and just let me know if I’m too slow. Recently while leveling I’ve had my healer ask me to slow down and in a single pull the dps were complaining and telling me to pull more.
I get where his approach is wrong too. I don’t attempt to assert myself on a group just because I’m in the tanking role. Though, to also be fair, I know these dungeons they’re wanting to do very VERY well and likely the way I do it is faster/better. So I ask the group what everyone wants to do when it comes to a crossroads and see where it takes us.
So to say we ain’t that deep is a pretty broad statement that includes people like me. I am nowhere near an uppity tank UNTIL it becomes clear that the group is not right for me. And that’s fine. I am not subject to abuse or ridicule just because groups “don’t need a proper tank” and I won’t deal with it. Automatically being an aggressor when you can step back and ask where someone’s coming from helps continue the chain of toxic tanks.
Just be nice. Everyone. Thank everyone.
