Thank You For Your Reports

I, too, returned to Classic Era after giving Wrath a try again. (I say “again” because I Initially stopped playing WoW In Wrath as a OG Vanilla player.

You correctly identity one of the traits of retail/modern WoW - divide players between those who are most efficient and those who aren’t.

Ghostcralwer also was famously flabbergasted by players’ choice of valuing efficiency over everything else the game had to offer.

I left Wrath after 1/2 level when I was reminded of this. I wanted to feel immersed in those incredible Wrath zones again. But I was instead run over with neurotic players who wanted to get to 80 as fast as possible to raid as fast as possible to clear all content as fast as possible.

EFFICIENCY UBER ALLES.

I also left Wrath because of all the bots - which are STILL omnipresent.

Every day I would open the Social panel and type “/who” and see 15 rogues and 15 DKs - all with 5 character random names in the same dungeon. And they were ALL THE EXACT SAME LEVEL.

Why is this?

Blizzard’s own anti-cheat (Warden) has been around since the game launched. Blizzard has worked with IBM Watson and Google DeepMind in AI development for years.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to use a simple algorithm to detect today’s bot groups.

Why do bots still exist when anti-cheating tech developed by Blizzard exists? Surely, a company that worked with Watson and DeepMind projects can detect 15 rogues or DKs in the same dungeon who use the same randomly generated 5 character naming convention and all share the exact same level.

thank you for ur information

We report and it appears nothing happens, who’s working on this. A blue post talking about it has done nothing, we need to see action.

just you wait o.0

It would be simple for someone to log in and ban all the random leveling names on all the classic realms each day. That’s if you can’t figure out an automated way to do it. Which is dismal considering how much automation one can do in wow if they have the brains and the will.

Just say that you guys don’t care. Or whoever is above you doesn’t care. This is partially why I quit classic and why I didn’t come back for TBC. Wrath made me want to come back, but your resources for this game are close to non-existant.

Is there a way to have a NEW PVE server on the West Coast realm? I see 2 NEW PVP servers but no new PVE. Also, can you plz email me when it happens?

I don’t get why we have to do your jobs for you…. Take out the free dk and then start banning them super easy for y’all to do….this was just a cash grab

I don’t know if it’s something youre supposedly still working on, but I can say that at least on Mankrik, every single hour of the day you can still do a /who Hinterlands and see the same 58 Death Knights on Horde side constantly making the botting routes that have been there for months. Charadra and Morasong come to mind, though others of different levels also roam around there clearly botting.

The thing is, they can’t be human players just “playing the game” and they’ve been reported into oblivion, yet nothing has been done about it regardless of them being known pretty much server wide. They are active at all times of the day. 24/7.

It’s hard to have faith that the reports are taken seriously or investigated well when we have had guildmates get hit with temp bans for botting (when they weren’t) but these exceptionally obvious ones are permanently ignored.

They sure are a problem

2 years later and AV is full of “bots”

You have to actually take action after we report them. Reporting them is only half the battle.

I almost want to think that “when in Rome” so I guess we all can bot? Or just their select list of pre-approved botters (CCP approved no doubt)

Do they ever get banned? Seen the same bots for months on my server.

kek np bro:smiley:

must be joking

As someone that just got silence banned, the whole beef started when this party accused me of botting.

The ban came from my overuse of harsh language, I understand that, but if I had said nothing, then I would have just as well ended up being reported and likely hit with an undeserved reprimand as I suspect your reporting system functions in this manner.

This all occurred simply because the party didn’t like how I played, geared, etc. and took it upon themselves to attack me, call on others to report me, so…

I got banned for defending myself against such an accusation, which is clearly not true; I’m not a bot, as I don’t use any kind of mod or addon or whatsoever, I play the game as is.

All I’m going to say on this matter is, I don’t trust you bot reporting system. I suspect it works just like the silencing, so I expect to be reported anyways, but with the previous lesson learned, it won’t be for language. It will be by the nerds you have empowered with your report systems because…

Your report systems operate on mob rule.

I’d love to keep reporting them, but its incredibly disheartening when you see a glimmer of hope in a post like this, then log onto WoW Classic Era and do /who dire maul. Seriously, Blizzard you should try it yourself!

well you all have to pull out the big guns to address this issue, Literally 10 + bots in every WSG ive queued for since yesterday. its really embarrassing.

who ever has the ban button should just queue WSG and pad those ban numbers

For a player that has been with Wow for over 14 years, I will not continue to play in battlegrounds until you get the bots out of them. (Never ever has it been an issue like it is now!, Never!) It is not and should ever be a player’s responsibility to monitor and report botters. We pay you, you do not pay us!

Bring back GameMasters! The botting is SO over the top that anyone with admin rights and half a brain can see and take action on it.

This pill is a hard one for me to take but it seems that Blizzard failing attempt at removing the bot issue is being overlooked with no regard for the player that has paid an honest wage to play in an honest and monitored game is of no more concern to them.

Thanks for a Strong 10+ years of gaming but I must drop my sub till the community forums read differently than they do now with botting in battlegrounds.

Til then, have fun and play safe fellow players!
FOR THE HORDE!
