Even more than that, there is always a different looking mythic raid transmog that’s exclusive to the raid itself.
So the idea that Blizzard’s not doing anything to reward people doing the hard dungeon is laughable. They’ve definitely got a set of prestige gear to show that they’re a try-hard if they want.

The reason a lot of raiders complain about things like this is because they are raid loggers. They log in to raid then immediately log out. The reason they hate Mythic+ and Benthic gear is because now if they want to stroke their epeens and keep high parses compared to players who do more than 1 thing they have to do more than raid farm content 1.5 hours a week.
In the past if you were a raid logger you could easily maintain a 80%+ parse. These days it requires more work. That’s what makes it extra ironic when they talk about “free gear you don’t have to work for.” They’re complaining to avoid working for their gear.

People who don’t raid, do rated pvp, or push keys don’t need better gear.

Yes, you had to group and raid for all that.
Show me where in WoW’s history you were allowed to log in 20 minutes a day, beat up a few defenseless mobs, collect a few sparkles on the ground, and get the second best gear in the game.

Mythic Raiding
Mythic+
Heroic Raiding
Top Upgraded Benthic gear
try 4th?
And even then, World boss gear can warforge / titan forge and get better, Mythic+ gear can warforge/titan forge and be even better, Heroic raid gear also has better chances of getting better.
Benthic isn’t the second best gear in the game.
I feel like you don’t even know anything about Benthic or heroic raiding and are just trying to trash it.
Also, BC and Wrath heroics were jokes.

Dude, it’s 5 ilvls away from the best gear you can get from Mythic+ and Heroic Raiding and you get to target each piece you want over Mythic+ and Heroic Raiders who just have to keep spinning the RNG wheel. Don’t make it out like it’s this big titanic freaking difference. lol
Yeah, and that 5 item level difference can jump to 10 or 15+…

Benthic is stuck at 425, and will not get higher. Everything else can jump up and get higher.
It’s statistically the 4th best gear in the game, therefore your statement is false.

Classic WoW. Several class’ BiS lists going into as late as Naxx are riddled with quest rewards, pvp items, crafted items, and low level dungeon drops. Sorry, charity gear is not new and getting a 425 Benthic requires far more time investment than several full blown BiS items in Classic WoW and most other periods in the game’s history including the old honor badges system which gave rewards that were 2nd best in the game.

Actually, one case. Eternal palace, has a few peices (3 in grand total if all three benefit you, iirc) that the side effects are stronger than raw stats from higher item level peices.
Najz too I suppose if you count that.
Anywhere else? nah.
So… 2 cases at most? 1 case that actually matters.
