What is incredibly cool and memorable about raids that have already been in the game for months?

Enjoying the game and doing the content is not being irrelevant. Are you talking about when dragonflight releases?
I level to 70 and start the gearing process just like any new season, which is not irrelevant.
Expansions are just like seasons, only you level 10 more levels and gear up again.
There are already sales being offered starting week 2 for heroic fated raids, plenty of discord communities where you can find them.
I understand Jay you wanting people to work for things or have things to aspire to. The issue here really is not the same. They already said hey do lfr we will give you this mount and got people all excited, then they changed it to normal. I mean, either way I am doing it here, but I feel like Blizz should do what they said they were going to. Its very simple really, and they could just as easily add a recolor mount to normal or higher. BAM PROBLEM SOLVED!
I have for years. A good guild is hard to find. Meaning a guild of maybe 40 people who actually talk to each other and share a similar schedule.
It’s event based reward, and it’s super cool. Your bitterness won’t detract from that.
Maybe we have different standards and realities, that’s true.
I’m from a South American server and here the opposite is often true, a lot of the people I play with spends time farming for gold just to pay for their monthly subscription. Specially the ones from Argentina or Venezuela (though I don’t know many from there) have a very bad conversion to dollars from their money, so they would never pay for a carry. The amount of carry you’d need to pay for this mount would easily feed a family for a month (or more) in some places around here.
So for me this carry thing is very alien.

They always use that old “you got carried to your reward” argument for anyone who disagrees with them.
There couldn’t possibly be skilled players who will do normal to get the reward they want! That can’t possibly happen in an MMO, everyone is just carried by cutting edge raiders! Everyone just pays gold! The game is not a game anymore, but a gold simulator!

A reward doesn’t make an event cool or memorable. The event itself needs to instill those feelings. Which these raids won’t do, considering that they’re nothing new.

Except it’s true. Since the reward can be bought, it dilutes any prestige you think you might have for earning it. It’s why things like AOTC and CE don’t mean much anymore.
Making previous raids relevant again is a good thing. If you disagree with that, that’s totally cool.
Being a bitter tool about people enjoying themselves in the event and reaping rewards from it doesn’t make you right though. It just makes you a bitter tool.

It shows how incredibly out of touch they are. Most players I know dont pay for carries because they actually play the game. Only an entitled person would think that everyone gets carried to their achievements by the one percent.

Just looking at the pricing packages that BDGG has listed in their discord for an assortment of bosses/difficulty combinations, pretty often unless you’re looking for Mythic clears. Heroic is incredibly cheap. I’d wager they post Fated packages before long for people wanting those carries. Same goes for the rest of the world firsters looking to fill the coffers.
It is, but not in the way that Blizzard is choosing to do it. Their method for this season is flawed and inferior compared to how other games handle the relevancy of older content, honestly. They don’t seem to care about the fun or engagement of doing the content, but rather how much time they can pad onto people’s subscriptions.
Like, I can’t believe that Mythic players seem to be fine with getting teleports as a reward this season. That is mind-bogglingly bad on Blizzard’s part. There is nothing about the reward scheme for Mythic players this season that would compel me to play Mythic. Which is an issue, considering that some parts of the playerbase like playing on that difficulty.

Says you. Gear rewards will be relevant from previous raids, and that is something I really hope they keep doing.

People don’t do mythic for arbitrary rewards lol. They do it for gear and leaderboards.
