Ok, so… I had reserved my name on Thalnos, as most of south americans are playing. Ok, sure, done, I was waiting for this day for a looong time and…
Queue.
Sure, everyone knew it was going to happen. I was on a queue for 4 hours and then I connected. Perfect - exactly the game I was expecting. Two of my friends had already connected before me and waited, and then we played together.
Fine. Among us 3, only I speak English, which is okay because I talk for them and translate the chat if necessary.
As soon as some random south american guy said something (FRIENDLY) in Spanish in the chat, dozens of English speakers started going really hard on him, saying that he shouldn’t be there and that Thalnos is - supposedly - an English-only server and all that nonsense, including some hard xenophobes curses and expressions, that I will never reproduce once (idk if you agree, but this is completely BS for me). Even here in the forums some BS guys were complaining about Portuguese-Spanish people on Thalnos. Tbh, it is clearly a big deal for both sides.
Of course, those xenophobes didn’t even try to understand the guy and cursed him and whoever typed something in chat that wasn’t in English.
I get that those people exist, ok, but Blizzard should have thought about SA players since YES, we are an abundant part of the players in general. Basically every other Blizz game has SA servers (and, to be honest, even in those ones there are some xenophobes, but much less).
Ok Blizzard, you are not going to open servers as we are asking, I got that. And I can’t ask you to ban every single american person that don’t want SA people on Thalnos. Of course, it IS an american server in anyway, so…
But a SA server is really necessary, for both ingame reasons (as ping, queues etc.) and those toxic people.
