There’s an article on Blizzard Watch about it this week. While it doesn’t read like a guarantee, that’s certainly what the BW staff is thinking is going to happen based on their talks to folks at the company.
Tess and Vanessa Van Cleef.
They’re both rogues and were in the class order hall.
DO IT YOU COWARDS. DO IT!
Just because homophobia doesn’t exist doesn’t mean that Tess might not be afraid of her parents knowing the truth, especially since Liam died, meaning the continuation of the Greymane line falls on Tess’s shoulders. Learning that she isn’t attracted to men, and thus is unlikely to have legitimate children, could be very disappointing to her mother and father.
There are other reasons to keep one’s sexual orientation hidden than fear of persecution. I mean, another could be that the girl just likes her god-damned privacy! Who doesn’t?
Not hating, just questioning where this logically ends. Should roughly 10% of wow characters be gay because that’s roughly what the RL statistics are? One or two, perfectly fine. Coming out of the woodwork everywhere feels a bit heavy handed, but nothing to really complain about. They exist, I’ve had a few gay friends, so more representation isn’t a bad thing as long as it’s handled tastefully.
I think where it’s logical makes sense. I know a lot of people shipped Shaw and Flynn. I personally never got that vibe (and feel that Flynn can do way better), but it is what it is. Doesn’t really bother me (other than that Flynn is too good for Shaw).
The idea of Tess Greymane and Lorna Crowley being a couple doesn’t quite strike me as all that far-fetched to be honest. I mean, how many available bachelors don’t have a fur problem in Gilneas right now? Not enough, let alone enough in the nobility to consider marrying. Aside from that they’re both survivors of the fall of Gilneas, and I imagine could’ve easily found comfort and mutual support that grew into something.
What I think is coming and might throw people off is a, ‘Dumbledore is gay,’ moment with Uther. Personally I think it’d be interesting if Uther was revealed as gay, since as far as I know he never married or had kids. I also think it’d be so out of left field despite nothing ever being against it that people would freak out.
I don’t think the excerpt remotely hints that she is a Lesbian anymore than all the rumors that Shaw is gay.
If both rumors are true, great for them. Love whomever you want.
I think the line of: “taken a page or two” is just a way of saying that she is picking up some habits that Shaw is known for.
who cares, story is garbage, characters are garbage.
This train is going too fast to jump off now and survive. Might as well get comfortable and enjoy front row seats for it’s continued wreck.
Good point. I forgot Lorna wasn’t canine-inclined.
Definitely. Though, in all honesty, that’s kind of a low bar for me.
or you can skip dialogues and don’t care anymore.
Tess doesn’t want to be tied down to Royal duties she is a strong willed woman who wants to fight and likes getting her hands dirty.
I don’t think she is a lesbian, just someone who doesn’t want to be held down and put into a fancy dress and attend balls. Rather doing subtly and espionage.
Where’d his daughter come from then?
Doesn’t make sense to me but then the story rarely does.
Shaw doesn’t have a daughter. He has a boyfriend in Before the Storm and that’s it.
If Tess is to marry someone from Gilneas, I hope she’d get with someone who has the curse. A Queen and a Princess ruling people who are infected with a curse, while none of them can cope with that would be odd. It’s what gives Greymane his strength now as a leader, he has the curse.
So Tess isn’t Shaw’s daughter? Okay. I’m still confused but at least that’s cleared up.
It’s like my boy Jeff Kaplan said in that Dinoflask video from 2016:
“We wanna really create this feel and excitement for you guys of ‘Wow, who knows what character will be gay the next time I log in?’”
Tess is Genn’s daughter. It’s why they have the same last name.
lol, okay. That’ll teach me. Or not.
Tess is Genn Greymane’s daughter
Well you rarely see Tess ever in the story. She’s out and about doing her thing.
