Tempest (Stormbringer hero talent tree) is visually boring

One of the primary reasons, perhaps the biggest reason, I play and love elemental shaman is how fun it is to cast lightning and chain lightning.

So with War Within I was really excited that one of shaman’s hero talents was called “Stormbringer” - I thought that I was gonna have a sort of perma Stormkeeper and I was gonna be slinging lightning constantly and at an even faster pace.

But no all it really does is occasionally turn lightning bolt into Tempest, which is one of the most underwhelming spells that shaman has (with the exception of Earth Shock).

Please fix this. Give it more oomph. It’s cool to be calling down lightning from the sky in this fashion, but not if pressing it feels terrible because there’s hardly anything that shows up on screen when you do.

Using tempest and hitting a target for 1-1.5 million is stifling to me. I chose the talent that gives 2 free CL when multiple targets are hit. It puts out some serious damage in the blink of an eye. In pvp I can get a group in trouble real quick.

But more flare is always good :slightly_smiling_face:

I chose that option as well. It seemed like the obvious better choice between the two, and I always love when I can get more CL casts lol.

Technically, the talent that returns 30 Maelstrom isn’t bad. You’ll find yourself in single-target situations where you can pull off combos like Earth Shock > Tempest > Earth Shock > Tempest > Earth Shock. It’s very satisfying, but you need to keep track of the Maelstrom spent and the triggers of the three procs. When it happens, you can chain them perfectly. The only downside is that it’s just a highlight in a sea of mono-spam spells… I would have wanted more Lightning.

For example, Tempest could have replaced Lava Burst, with a cooldown and cast time, and Lightning Rod damage would have had a percentage chance to make it available even if on cooldown and instant without a crit. Maybe a talent in Stormbringer could have given charges to Lightning Shield, where each Lightning damage had a percentage chance to add a charge, and each charge increased the damage of Electrified Lasso. This way, it could have been a fully-fledged Lightning-themed build. But instead, we’re stuck with this.

CL is the best spell in the game visually , sound , and when we got mastery it was even better (sadly master has been nerfed , and has been an issue since its inception, remember when we got multistrike stat? i loved it on other casters , but on ele was “meh” because mastery already did that)

about the talents , it sucks having to choose btw AOE or ST, suggestion and changes were talked on beta thread and blizz ignored all of it.

Lightning rod spread still sucks , make it last more , make it 1 target only but does aoe dmg when hit with lightning

or like thunderyuss said use lasso , maybe lasso on lightning rod makes lasso aoe (only stuns primary target)
