Teldrassil was not supposed to exist

Immortality is boring. It brings with it the expectation that one has already hit the apex of their life, and that that apex must be preserved into perpetuity. A civilization of immortal beings is therefore equally prone to this concept of “hitting its peak” … with the expectation that a peak should never wane (and I do find it somewhat hypocritical as an Immortal Being can in no way represent the very LIFE that the Kaldorei seem to covet in many areas of their own lives).

Bluntly, its the reason that I find Kaldorei stories focused on the present (not involved in those focused on their amazing past) so insufferably boring. So many of their quests are merely the slavish maintenance of the status-quo … and so much of their content is focused backwards; not forwards. Its a personal taste thing … but the reasons Goblins are my favorite PC has little to do with their tech (its the fact that they are thematically the opposite of the Kaldorei in almost every way; there is no race less blessed than they … and few races where their future is more important than their pasts).

Immortality does not mean invincibility.
It actually allows a lot of opportunities for clash of cultures.

New ideas vs old ideas and liberal change vs conservatives.
Maybe its just me but I like those culture clashes.

Fine … then eternity is boring.

How can the Kadorei truly claim to have a civilization that represents and preserves life, when they as species just ignore so many aspects of it? Growth, Change, Adaptation, Birth, Death … Life is both ugly and beautiful, and ebbs and flows like water. The Kaldorei act more like mere caretakers of Nature in many ways, rather than actually being a part of it.

The only thing Kaldorei have thats different than other races is their immortality. In wow there are multiple races who are organic and immortal like the Draenei or the dragons.

What you are saying makes no sense in the context of the lore.
Kaldorei are magical beings so obviously they would be different than your regular mammal.

How so? It is shown that in the right setting Night Elves could become like Blood Elves, Nightborn, spider people, Naga and probably other things.
They evolve differently and are evolved themselves.

They evolve through magic just as how they take care of nature through magical ways. Sorry but you are just plain wrong in this.

Fine … subjectively I find immortality boring; especially within how its portrayed within the immortal races of this game.

Gotta internally justify genocide.

Philosophy written to justify game racial balance.

One of the first quests the Kaldorei PC gets is to hunt down creatures that had bread out of balance with what the environment could support… so saying they know nothing of the fact ugliness that is part of the cycle of nature is a bit silly.

Kaldorei exist as part of the cycle of nature, yet also slightly removed from it so that they might act as its guardians/overseers.

It was a DWARVEN siege weapon, defended by human footsoldiers.

The dragons are NOT immortal. Especially after Catacylsm. Neither are the draenei, ridiculously long lived, but not immortal.

But why use siege towers when tanks are a much more superior option?

I assume those Siege towers were suppose to function as transport as well, get close enough to the wall and have the Footmen on top of storm the parapets of Lordearon.

The gameplay answer though is it looks cool and a new set piece Blizzard can add to the game.

But why not use tanks, when they are clearly much better options to assault a fortified position? Tanks are better than siege towers! It’s not like we ever get on top of those walls in the first place!

And how is a siege tower cooler than a tank? Tanks are awesome! Case in point, Sylvanas unleashes a tank to stop the siege towers.

Because it looks cool? I don’t think they bothered to take recoil or weapons safety into consideration.

But it doesn’t! Siege towers don’t look cooler than a tank! You can’t seriously claim that a collumn of tanks charging together don’t make a more awesome sight than a collumn of siege towers slowly lumbering forward.

They had the model made an they were going to use it if the army of the light was literally one ship then siege towers can be the cutting edge of warfare

It’s big, it dominates the landscape more than the dwarven tanks. Another theory I have is it can help against the blight, with its height advantage, it might be enough to allow people to avoid breathing the gas due to said height location.

Because people are dumb? Seige towers are slow, big targets, while tanks are the land apex predators of the battlefield.

Honestly, anyone whose played a tabletop war game or RTS should have known to use artillery before sending in the tanks.

This is blizzard they know nothing of war to them the army of the light in its entirety was one ship.

The are managing nature in those stories, that does not make them a PART of it; that makes them caretakers of it. They themselves are not bound by, ruled by, regulated by, or expected to follow many of the rules they themselves enforce upon nature due to their own immortality.

Also, just a note, but them killing off the animals is artificial maintenance of nature. The environment will balance out on it own if left to its own devices, one way or another … with or without the NEs. It a less cruel to method to re-reach an equilibrium … but whos to say the natural equilibrium of that natural environment is the one the NEs are maintaining?
